The Manchester United Thread

Absolutely farcical and yet another stumbling INEOS PR disaster. They've hung their hat on Ashworth, a man who spent longer on gardening leave as they madly waited it out for him, to now bin him so quickly. Oh, and in the process, not only added to the millions Ashworth has cost them getting him and binning him. But the millions keeping and then binning the previous manager.

Like at Nice, Ratcliffe doesn't have a F clue what he's doing, or about football period, with his vanity project that kept the Glazers in power. And his tone deaf, despicable comments yesterday trying to justify the price hike and doing away with concessions on the basis Fulham can't be charging more just adds to the fact every United fan should be turning their anger on him and INEOS more than anyone.

If the Glazers are clowns, Ratcliffe has turned OT into a complete circus. As was mooted in here not too long back, the man is a complete, narcissistic, shithouse.

Boggles the mind that an up and coming young manager like Amorim would hinder his career by walking into such continued dysfunctionality.
The Fulham comment was outrageous and im surprised he didn't catch that much flack. Not to mention the cost cutting but hurting those at the bottom of the rung at the club in the name of "saving costs". Honestly if he wasn't a tinpot dictator from a country with awful human rights issues then Ratcliffe would make a great Bond Villain. Despicable man even for billionaire standards.

Despicable is the word. And he's the one that's signed Utd's death warrant by keeping the Glazers in power and giving them an out when the Arabs were begging to take over. He and INEOS have done nothing but bring chaos to each club they've owned/ been associated with. And this changing personnel so quickly will be matching Boehly at Chelsea before too much longer.

I actually really like Amorim. Seems a really personable, nice, genuine guy. He'll have to eventually change his style like (if he even gets that long at Utd the way INEOS change people on a whim), as three at the back rarely works in England. But at least he has a clear philosophy and an attractive, progressive brand of football.

Just baffles me how he'd put his up and coming career reputation at risk by going to a club in such continued dysfunction?

That's Utd's January and summer windows thrown into absolute chaos now.

Former Chelsea Technical Director. Don't know if that's a good or bad thing considering the buying and selling record of Chelsea over the last few years...
He’s been with us since Ineos took over. Left Chelsea a good few seasons ago. He worked at Sporting with Amorim for a couple seasons

He didn't stay long at Chelsea from the looks of it even less time than Ashworth, the appointment is only interim as well for now. we just have to see what the window brings with any luck they can get rid of a couple of players who have already been identified as unsuitable going forward and bring in at least one player.

Remember years ago when the keeper had the ball at his feet and was surrounded by attacking players, we would all shout "RID OF IT!!!!!!!".
WTF happened to that?

I blame Guardiola, Neuer and all the copycats. Nowdays it's more important for goalkeeper to dribble and pass the ball rather than saving the god **** football.
