Close shave. De gea finally coming good. But what a ridiculous second half. Did they think they were playing madrid again and get scared?

What? He's been good all season O_o

It was a ridiculous second half though, disgraceful in fact. Still can't believe we threw it away like that, but let's look on the brightside, that's a pretty easy final if we can get to it (no offence).

Only Chelsea and City to go through. Love our easy draws. <3

Indeed. Constantly makes jaw-droping saves, yet somehow still has reputation for being inconsistent. I don't know what's up with that. Especially as odd mistakes happen pretty much to everybody nowadays.

Certainly destroyed us that 2nd half.
And good part of first too. Guess players weren't blood thirsty as I was. Good performance by Chelsea. Outplayed us through midfield, didn't see that coming. And Rafa out.

Don't know about anyone else, but I have been thoroughly disappointed with majority of our wingers this season. Young, Nani & Valencia have been so very poor. I start to worry when we play with those players on the pitch as they look like they are playing for the other team by sabotaging our plays, poor crossing, passing, possession and beating the man, shocking. I mean sure they have the odd good game but they don't deserve a place in the team with their form. Just my opinion mind.

Agree with u on everything there...Nani has always been inconsistent but has been Good in the Last Few Games.
Young was an expected one tbh bcos after First Few Weeks last season, he hasnt been anywer close to Utd standards.
But the surprising one ois Valencia as he was top notch last season and was probably our best player after Rooney and Carrick last year.

Can't decide if Valencia is in horrific form or defenders have just learnt how to defend against him..

The former, he doesnt even take his man on for them to defend against him.

And even when he is in a crossing position, they're woeful. Used to be such a reliable deliverer of the ball from wide at the very least.

Surprise surprise, Rio will not be charged with the incident with Torres! Can't help but feel if that was JT/Cole it would have ended up differently. Shocking from the FA, they absolutely bottled this.

When was the last time Terry was banned for anything by FA?

They are just incompetent. Rooney was banned for swearing but 100s of players were not, even when they were caught swearing in their post match interviews.
Rio was banned for 8 months (?) for missing drug test (which he admitted and offered to take next day) and the players who were found guilty were banned for even lesser months.

For the first time in the history, players were banned from league because they got red card in some friendly cup (Rooney and Scholes) and no one was ever banned for it.

FA has been always **** for us to make a proper example, this one Rio escaped. He deserved to be banned but if it was JT/Cole, if it was Suarez is getting tiresome.

YOu mean like how they didn't immediately ban Terry over the Ferdinand thing? Or how they didnt ban Cole for his outburst? Both because it would affect England, which is what I'm guessing is motivating this.

The whole if he was Terry thing is dull, they bent over backwards to keep in him the England side for the Euros after his screw up.

But in the end he was punished and rightfully so, Rio has got away with two things in one week and two things which other players normally get done for. I am not debating the FA tried everything to keep JT in the squad and i think you'll find at that time i said that was wrong also because they part punished him. Should have either kept quiet and backed him until after the trial or suspended him from playing for England all together. That aside i have also talked about the difference in fines between Chelsea and not just Utd players but anyone which you cannot disagree with. Cole was fined more for slating the FA than Rio was for a racist tweet, how is that fair? In my opinion the FA have absolutely bottled this, i actually thought some action would be taken this time. Silly me.

Terry hasn't done anything in recent history to get banned by the FA so that's irelevant. Also i do think there was a difference with the Rooney swearing directly down a camera and someone slipping one out by accident in an interview. On the Rio drug ban i have no sympathy for him at all, all players are told in advance when they need to take a drugs test and if he misses it then you pay for it. Petr Cech missed out on all the teams celebrations in the dressing room after Munich because he was called to do a drugs test imagine how much that hurt him but he still went. On the friendly red=league ban it was a rule which went unnoticed really but they didn't just change it because Utd had players sent off in friendlies did they.

Swearing is swearing, heat of the moment or accidental slip of tongue.

You have no sympathy on Rio? I'm not really surprised. He was banned for more months than the players who were found guilty. ******* lol.

Never heard of that rule, care to point to that rule?

I agree with maybe the FA should have took some action against Rio, but Rio crime wasn't as bad as JT & Cole's crimes. But in truth all players should face FA action when they do wrong on or off field of play & it shouldn't matter who they play for club or county they should receive punishment from the FA. JT might be your favourite player as you're a Chelsea fan, but you got to agree with me on JT is no way a saint. He is a great leader & a good defender for club & county but I think he is trouble maker if he doesn't get his own way!. And last thing I will say on this all footballers need to grow up, in real life you would get sack from workplace if copied footballers actions.

Well not exactly true is it, i'm pretty sure Mark Bosnich, Paddy Kenny and Stan Lazaridis's bans just off the top of my head were all longer than Rio's?

How about Kolo Toure and another City player who was found guilty at the time Rio was banned?

I agree with you mate and i have even wrote a blog stating that outside of football i think JT is probably not a very nice person. But the thing i have always done is treat them as footballers because that's all they are to me and not just Chelsea players but Giggs and Rooney too. I also agree that what JT done the racism thing was worse than this but i wouldn't say what Cole done (the tweet) was worse. I'd say the incident was not dis-similar to Terry's on Sanchez at the Nou Camp last season and on that occasion the ref/officials saw it and sent him off rightfully.
