The Manchester United Thread

How about Kolo Toure and another City player who was found guilty at the time Rio was banned?

Every case is handled differently, why he was given longer maybe they have their reasons maybe they don't? Maybe they just wanted to make a case of it because of the profile of him.

Well not exactly true is it, i'm pretty sure Mark Bosnich, Paddy Kenny and Stan Lazaridis's bans just off the top of my head were all longer than Rio's?
Rio was never found guilty of taking drugs, he just failed to give a sample to the drug testers!. So that's why he got a short ban than the others!.

Thanks. That was the answer to my first point. Profile. That's the reason we were harshly treated few times and you gave the answer yourself. Every case is dealt differently and REF said it wouldn't have sent him off. That was enough not to charge Rio.

The question you have to ask is why wouldn't he have sent him off? It is/should be a red card offence lol.

Ref disagrees with you.

I thought he will be banned for at least 3 games but looks like many disagrees with me too. It was ref's word going by what I read.

I remember some of the shocking challenges by Essien going unpunished without even getting yellow. And when some of the tackles like this gets yellow at best, I'm not really surprised that Rio went unpunished.

Essien looks somewhat pale on this gif.

He deserved to be banned but if it was JT/Cole

I wouldn't say what Rio did is really ban worthy , i mean it was definitely red card and a completely stupid thing to do, why foul like this, no ball, no action, it can only hurt the team. I would expect 34 year old dude to use his brain a bit more.

But it wasn't really brutal, violent , knee-breaking thing. Heat of the moment brainfart, basically. Plus Torres falls like this at least 50 times per game so he's used to it.

Remember how I said it may have something to do with the upcoming England qualifiers? Well Rio has been recalled.

So basically the same as they done with JT they wanted to keep him sweet? So disgusting though the way they operate don't you think.

It is quite underhanded. I don't think many United fans would have had too many complaints with a ban. As Sunil and I were alluding to, his lack of ban is not because he's Rio, although it doesn't make it any less wrong that he escapes.

So i guess everybody got drunk tonight celebrating the title.

And once again, we help you guys out to yet another title. You're very welcome (H)

Last season it was against Everton where we lost major ground losing 2 goals and 2 points in last few mins, looks like this season you pushed one step closer.

Btw, ManCity have taken just 4 points out of 24 against Everton. Moyes :proud:

And when you compare the money spent....well, what can you say. One word springs to mind.....owned

Read that Schneiderlin is on last year of his contract. IMO he would be more than decent player for us effectively replacing Fletcher.

Not the greatest with ball at his feet but he is a good player and can provide good defensive cover. Only Lucas has better Tackles won per game, just 0.1 ahead and Schneiderlin has highest interceptions per game than any other player in the league.
