The Manchester United Thread

In my belief the strike force is petty good when we play well, but the trouble is the midfield and wing department is workman like or inconsistent in creative department and we find it hard to break down defences, and also not attractive on the eye. If I was Sir Alex I would sell Antonio Valencia, Nani, Ashley Young, Anderson & possibly Wayne Rooney (who I think needs new challenge?) in the summer. And buy I some creative players like Mario Grotze or Christian Eriksen or Marco Verratti etc. We got Wilfred Zaha coming in the summer and Anglo Henrique could be back up four striker to Robin Van Persie, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck. But saying that Isn't bad that United hadn't been at their best attacking wise this season, but we should win the league this season.

You should buy Arturo Vidal, right Mike? Oh wait.

Who needs Vidal?

I think RVP could do it, but it wouldn't be optimal. And Kuba is Blaszczykowski ;)

Surely the only way it'd work is if Rooney was going to move to either the wing or midfield more often. Rooney's shown he can play the CM role well against weaker teams in the past, but if Fergie doesn't think he can trust him to be defensively disciplined enough to play against Madrid, is he really going to trust him in CM? And can't see him as a regular on the wing, United have always been about playing with two proper wingers, why would he change now?

Think it's more journalists have got bored with nothing to write about, taken the Rooney rumours earlier and decided we're going to sign Falcao. IMO Rooney/RVP is a stronger partnership than Falcao/RVP would be, and we can keep the cash and sign a proper midfielder

I think Welbeck played himself into the second leg with his display in the first. The Rooney situation has just come about through journalist sensationalism, he won't leave United.

Oops always though that was Lewandowski! Speaking of Kuba, wouldnt mind him on the right flank.

Rooney believes his long term future lies at CM. I think its different at CM, because he would be naturally sat in the danger zone. Interesting to see in future. Wasted on the wing for sure.

Don't think Joel was saying he'll leave, more questioning whether moving him into midfield would be a bad idea. And it would be, I reckon.

Young 16m or Vidal 10m?

Sigh...

<3 you for the monies

Young for 16M every day of the week. Premier league proven, winger and versatile. Who cares about whether we need a CM or not. It's wingers time..

Vidal 10M, Witsel 8M, Moutinho 8M are very recent signings who could have improved us.

Back then we had 3 strikers, as Berbatov was leaving. Rooney cant play deep of RVP, but can one of Kuba/Falcao/RVP play deep of each other? Strike force is as good as it gets, needs a quality winger and CM.

Yeah but we had Welbeck who had very good season and Hernandez who in his own right is excellent striker. Adding to that many wanted to keep Berba as we wanted CM more than any player and signing RVP means not getting enough game time for Welbeck and Hernandez. Now I don't think anyone is complaining about it though. Fantastic signing.

Also if Nani signs contract then winger issue will be solved. Nani on the right and Kagawa on the left as he can't be played behind the striker.

Only way to fit all these strikers if we sign Falcao is by playing diamond formation like we did against Newcastle or pushing Rooney to wings permanently which I don't think he likes. We can get 2 quality CMs for that money and our squad will be completed.

I get the feeling Falcao will go to PSG. I predict summer window to be quite insane with the usual heavy spenders joined by PSG, Bayern and supposedly Arsenal ('ll believe this one when i see it) and there's the Russians also spending more every year.

De Gea, Vidic, Evra, Jones, Ferdinand, Kagawa, Carrick, Valencia, Rooney, Hernandez, van Persie.

Great result very professional performance, rooney in CM:wub: it and our possesion with kagawa playing was much much better!
