Who are the preferred targets then guys?
 
I'm hoping for De Gea and Defour, and possibly Pato Rodriguez too. With the likes of Brown, O'Shea and maybe even Evans leaving, I expect us to sign another defender as well. I'd have liked Sanchez too, especially if Berbatov leaves

De Gea is all but done though. :) Is Pato a winger or CM?

Does he look good? Think the figures being banded around for Sanchez are too extreme.
 
Phil Jones and Young are already in the bag, De Gea is all but done.

Now all that we need is a CM who can attack and defend well, Modric would be dream signing..

Rodriguez is a great talent. I've only seen him play a handful of times, but he has always looked dangerous. He's got skill, balance and flair in abundance. He's very direct, has a good eye for a pass and is also versatile, he's just a bit too lightweight at the moment. I'm sure he would be toughened up at United though, and it looks as though he'd be available at a reasonable price.

Sanchez would be a luxury that we can't really afford and don't necessarily need at the moment. He shares some of the qualities that Pato Rodriguez has, just with more pace and experience. I think Pato is just as good technically though from what I have seen of the two.

Sounds like he's worth a punt. Being lightweight isn't too big of an issue if you have the work ethic/desire as Hernandez has shown.
 
Don't know why ManUtd aren't even linked with vidal from leverkusen. A very all-rounded midfielder with 1 year left in his contract but he wants to sign for a club that wins consistently wins trophies. Bayern is his top choice currently as the other clubs linked with him aren't even bayern's standard.

We have Fletcher, Carrick and Anderson who are similar to Vidal. We simply don't need him.
Patricio Rodriguez Pato is great player. He plays second striker or winger ( on both sides), quick, good passer and dribbler, he just dwells on the ball too much and he's not physically strong. But 10m for him would be bargain.

So you want another player who plays exactly the same roles of Ashley Young?
 
Vidal is nothing like Carrick or Fletcher, and the only similarity I can think of with him & Ando is they're both beasts at penalties :S

As for that list of targets, realistically, I'd take anyone from Pastore, Nasri, Modric, Sneijder, Martin & Thiago. Personally I'd like to see Jones get the nod in midfield to do the defensive work, but if we were to sign a destroyer to go with our new playmaker; then Lass, Banega or Defour would do. M'vila would be nice but he's recently committed himself to Rennes, & De Rossi is extremely loyal to Roma.

Vidal is similar to carrick, and isnt what we need, we need a player to drive into the hole from midfield, vidal isnt that type of player.

they both like to operate from deep with ranging passes, trying to dictate the tempo, interceptions are their defensive specialities
