The Manchester United Thread

I bet he loves Torres :)

United just better not sign Sneijder, he's always been my favourite player of recent years alongside Diego Tristan, Hamman, and Alonso :(

In current form even Titus Bramble loves Torres. ;)

@Munroe Defour isn't a destroyer either, he's similar to Carrick except for the fact he has more than 6 good games a year.

My opinion on this is that we won't sign a star central midfielder this summer. I think we may strike a deal with Spurs, that they keep him this summer and if they don't qualify for Champions League next season (12/13) then we get first refusal on him.

I think Ashley Young is the replacement for Giggs as a winger, and with Giggs' performances in central midfield last season I think that will be his role this year. I also think this will be his last season and that when he leaves next year is when we'll go really crazy on getting a CM.

That said, the window still isn't even officially open yet so anything could happen - but that's my opinion on the whole situation at the moment.

Also, looking at Modric's stats since joining Spurs, they really are quite poor. Maybe we need something a little more, who chips in with more assists and goals than he does. Not saying he's a bad player - but with what we'd be expecting from him his 3 assists and 2 goals per season don't seem like they'd be of much use to us tbh.

Chicharito won the top goal scorer award and also MVP in the gold cup. He has improved a lot and can only improve with his attitude towards game..

Its not about goals and assists with Modric, its the way he sets the tempo. He is a genuine playmaker of outstanding ability

38 year old Giggs as first choice creative CM next year? A title winning side could do better.

Uniteds budget is already used? Wouldn't be suprised with those debts.

Sigh, you're back...

If you looked at the figures, you will see that there is 50+ million left for transfers.

It's funny. Before the Jones deal, United detractors said they had no money. Before the Young deal, they said they'd used it all on Jones. Now, they're saying that there's none left. I can't wait to see them sign another player and see if people will backpedal again.

Well, that's what your assuming, nobody really knows how much he has other than SAF himself.

The transfer window hasn't even started and yet someone is claiming that Man Utd had ran out of money. Smart.

Its not just assumption. We have money which is kept for transfers. Not saying we will spend all the money, but we do have 113 Million which will rise to 180 Million in the bank. Part of it will be used for transfers..

Just because they have X amount in the bank doesn't mean they have X amount for transfers. To say they still have 50M+ for TRANSFERS is stupid, they may do, but you are telling people that they do when in reality you have no idea.

Tribal football, not even a single quote. Should be reliable and I'm sure Sneijder will Join City as Tribal football has published.. Sigh..

not really, sunilvk7 is right, because our transfer business is not driven by fees, but by wages. the simple fact is that there is 180+ million in spare cash, not allocated to anything, which makes our budget somewhere between 0m and that figure,

Thats what Gill said so many times. If you dont trust the man responsible for transfers, then I dont know whom to trust.

Ok. We dont have money. Move on..
