The Manchester United Thread

Why are you doing this to yourself? The soon you realize that future of our midfield is Pearson and Tunnicliffe, the better. Oh, god, Ryan Tunnicliffe :(

Rooney should train hard, get his fitness and he should be guaranteed a first team place, as he is a world class player. Moyes should shut the **** up about Rooney covering Van-Persie. He is too good to be sold to Chelsea.
I am getting ****** off about this whole situation. More than anything...

Moyes didn't call him a backup. He said he can play with RVP dropping off, but if the worst should happen and RVP gets injured, he has the quality to step in and play up top too.

If its mata ****** **** chelsea fans are gonna regret having the special one back lol .I would love it if they offer 15+ Mata.I say sell rooney + we save hugely on the wages also.

Probably Jose with his mind games unsettling Rooney and making Moyes uncertain at the start of the season. You don't just win a title with results on the pitch, you want to force the opposition into reacting to you instead of setting the pace themselves.

I don't see anything wrong with that, that's exactly fair, nobody is "second to RVP", that's as idiotic as calling Terry "fifth choice goalkeeper" just because he used to play a bit of GK and can play the position when the keeper is sent off, and him being offended by it. Rooney really is just a nuisance at the moment, I really have no idea why he feels the need to attention seek and cause all this drama. It says volumes that SAF called RVP the model professional, and he doesn't seem to do anything but bang goals; perhaps Rooney could take a leaf out of his book and stop listening to his agent wanting a fat pay day and really help Moyes and United form a strong title challenge this season to repay the fans for the £250,000 per week he's taking home out of their pockets.

well said that man

Panic and offer him a new contract?

That was completely different situation though. He's no longer first choice as a striker and in his current form he would lose direct competition with Mata for a first choice AM.

I highly doubt that Chelsea offered us Mata plus £10,000,000 seeing as Mata right now could go for the same price as Rooney (if not more!) due to the fact Rooney has been in one **** of a rut form wise at MU and Mata has been dictating the way Chelsea play up front the same way a conductor controls a orchestra. However if it were true, I'd love it but I wouldn't take it as even though we free up 250,000 £££'s and get a world class player, Mourinho will bring Rooney back to his FULL potential again and I don't want to see that happen. I would much rather we sold him to Real/Barca in a cash + player deal.

Rooney was once my favourite but I have now realised how much of a stroppy, money-grabbing petulant child he is. He would rather walk into the 1st team just because of the name on his back and his reputation, instead of working hard and play where he is needed for the team, and for the fans.

Ed Woodward has left the tour to carry out transfer business. Lining up to be our busiest, most exciting transfer windows in a while.

is there any 1 left that would make us better or have we missed the boat like all ways

Think that was always going to be the case with a new manager.

I wouldn't be surprised if the cash plus Mata deal was true, Mourinho loves to make a mark and has had a bit of fascination for Rooney over the years. Mourinho and Rooney would excite the shinpads off me.
I'd say Utd were getting the better deal mind.

I think the only two rumours that seem to have any legs atm are Garay & Fellaini.

Fellaini rumors and legs? Not even a single paper reporting it, on the other hand Fabregas rumors are reported.

The Guardian are, pretty sure that's a paper.

I would imagine the reason Fabregas is being talked about more than Fellaini atm is that the Fellaini things been going for ages. Headlines like "United close in on Fabregas" get your attention a bit more.

I also refuse to believe that Barcelona are short-sighted enough to sell Fabregas.

I'm not sure Guardian are reporting anything on Fellaini to ManUtd.

The reason Fabregas is talked about is that we have actually made a bid and interested in signing him. Whether we can or not is another story but at least for now that story has legs than Fellaini to ManUtd as there is no talk at all.

Much as I hate to agree with Andy, the Guardian did publish something on Fellaini: Manchester United target Cesc Fábregas and Marouane Fellaini | Football | The Guardian

On the other hand, the stuff on Fellaini is skeletal at best and a rehash of their previous story and bulking out the size at worst. There's nothing from any source regarding Moyes' interest in him.

Fair enough, I missed this one. But like you said it looks like lazy journalism linking him with us.
