So City is completing the signings of Negredo and Jovetic on consecutive days while.... we're just chilling in Australia cuddling koalas and kangaroos. Am absolutely ecstatic and can't wait for the new season.

Cuddling Koalas and Kangaroo's is much better than signing players. Although cuddling Kangaroo's would probably end badly for us.

"I don't like to talk about players from other clubs, but I can confirm we've made a bid for him." - Moyes

Hopefully this is what Ed is working on..

Jesus, chill out. United know what they're doing, give the transfer team a ****** chance.

So first squad in next season then?
If we fail to sign any midfielders, he will probably be backup for first team.

Hey! Bitterness is my thing, go find something for yourself ;)

Not going to happen... Tito and the assistant has both said he is non transferable. United need to look at a more realistic target.. Fabregas doesn't even want to leave.

Barca still haven't officially rejected our approach, Moyes sounds confident of something happening, Woodward is out there negotiating with Barca now. Show me a manager who comes out and says a player they don't totally want to leave is leaving just because a bid was received and I'll show you a blue dog. As I said to Alcaraz in the Chelsea thread, it doesn't mean a thing.

I mean seriously, you complain for years that we're not targeting a world class midfielder and then when we finally do you complain it's unrealistic. World class midfielders are few and far between, of course there's more realistic options because no one wants to sell their best players! You have to approach these things with optimism.

Everything semi-reliable points at him wanting to stay with Barca and that they don't want to sell him. Ed Woodward has disappeared into the unknown and I don't know how you know that's he's in Barcelona negotiating a deal for Cesc.

Because Moyes said he was.

"The chief executive [Woodward] has been dealing with it," said Moyes. "I may have a bit more information in the next day or so about how it's going."

Every top midfielder we could begin to hope for: Fabregas, Modric, Marchisio, Vidal etc. if we moved for any their clubs would say the exact same thing as Barca. So, by your logic, I suppose we'll have to settle for the return of the prodigal son, Gibson, to give us a realistic chance of making a signing.

By my logic I would of attempted to get Vidal before he went to Juventus (but that's a whole different story). I'd like to be cheery and optimistic but just can't see Fabregas coming in any way/shape/form.

There is more realistic targets out there in my opinion who if we have the buck.. which obviously we do... would have a better chance of getting than Fabregas, maybe not on the same level though.

For example... Gundogan.... he's a very good player and would benefit our midfield. Despite what people say Dortmund do sell at the right price and we could certainly benefit with him in our team.

I don't know why people are obsessed with getting a 'world class' midfielder. What does it matter what 'class' they are so long as they improve you? Is Ever Banega world class? Probably not, but he'd improve United's midfield immeasurably. Likewise Strootman.

No chance, Derryniesta is staying with us, kindly **** off! Go buy Kléberson or Verón instead, he just came out of retirement.

Very true indeed but as it is, it wouldn't take much to improve MU's midfield atm seeing as the only player last season who performed week in week out was Carrick and the others (Cleverly, Anderson, Fletcher) spent most of the season injured.

Our tank is empty.

You don't understand cuz you're Villa fan.

Now, you know United don't work like that.

I'll say it again: Vidal.
