The Manchester United Thread

Liverpool have been ***** for years and still believe they'll challenge every year. I'm sure we can survive one summer.
One summer, cool. Problem is - we haven't sign proper midfielder sine Owen H. And that was, what? 6-7 seasons ago IIRC?

Now, you know United don't work like that.

I'll say it again: Vidal.

Your tears nourish me

Yes, but Liverpool fans are ******* mental.

Your midfield relies on Benteke, who's going to leave Villa :D

A team relying on their star striker heavily? Sounds familiar!

Uh, Kagawa? Powell?

Barca still haven't officially rejected our approach, Moyes sounds confident of something happening, Woodward is out there negotiating with Barca now. Show me a manager who comes out and says a player they don't totally want to leave is leaving just because a bid was received and I'll show you a blue dog. As I said to Alcaraz in the Chelsea thread, it doesn't mean a thing.

Exactly. Tito said he wants Fabregas to stay and vice president said Fabregas will stay and is not for sale but they haven't rejected the bid. Moyes said Woodward is negotiating with Barca and in next few days he will have more updates which means Fabregas is available if only we pay the price.

Woodward returned early not to enjoy the manchester weather. There was some breakthrough in the big transfer deal and he is negotiating the price.

Also it's very UnManutd to name the players when they are not close to completing the deal. Fergie for the first time in many years talked about RVP and everyone was surprised and then we signed him. We don't want to be embarrassed by naming the player and missing out on them. So I would say we are at advanced stage. No source or ITK information, just some logical thinking.

Huge news from Barca with Vilanova stepping down.

Perhaps that is why Fabregas is more likely to move to play for Moyes since the Camp Nou situation is very strange indeed (he moved to play for Guardiola and the whole situation has changed entirely).

Except for the fact that he would be more likely to play for Wenger than Moyes...

Come off it..... Kagawa is not a midfielder in the terms we are speaking about and Powell was a player who is for the future not the here and now >.>

He said a midfielder. I gave you one midfielder and one player who is ostensibly a midfielder but not, apparently.

Does it? I still can't see him going with or without Vilanova.

The fact we're being so outspoken about who it is we're trying to sign gives me more confidence than Barca's denials take away. They're going to deny it regardless, whereas you can count on one hand the amount of times we actually speak so openly about targets. The only one that immediately springs to my mind is RVP, and we know how that ended.

To be fair, its a different manager in charge now. Moyes might want to be vocal about who he wants to sign since he has the kitty to sign them.

His line has always been that 'he doesn't talk about other club's players'. And with him being new, I'm sure he won't want to have egg on his face over this right at the start of his United career. Plus, I imagine the execs who are dealing with this brief him on what he should and shouldn't say.
