"Still could be a very important player for us but this is a fantastic opportunity to him, with an offer which is the right offer, for us, so in spite of probably many clubs, many boards and many managers, think not a to sell to a rival club, the player deserve respect and to be happy and to play where they want"

Fantastic words but is he hinting towards Rooney deal?

He has a back injury and news is it's not looking good at all.

Which proves what I was saying from many days. Club can attract big talents because ManUtd is a huge club and can pay wages.

That United can attract big talent was never in doubt, except for a few people. So, Gundogan in the summer then, battling out with Madrid, who can use Nuri Sahin as a bargaining chip.

We got Kagawa, we hold all the aces. Dortmund love Kagawa.

Last 2-3 years,

Arsenal's best player - RVP
Chelsea's best player - Mata
ManUtd's best player - Rooney

And we will have all 3 playing together. Only if we sign a good midfielder and Moyes starts taking more risks we will be grand.

Yeh but Moyes can't get the best out of Kagawa, so it makes me wonder whether he will with Mata. Kagawa deserved more chances in the hole behind the striker, but now Mata/Rooney will be priority and he will be on the flanks... I honestly don't see a future for him while Moyes is at the club anyway. I don't think Moyes is smart enough to put Rooney/Mata and Kagawa all in the same team and get them all performing well. Hope I'm wrong.

Only way of that happening is to basically stop playing with wide players which I highly doubt will happen.

I think United can attract big players regardless, but this tweet doesn't prove anything like that. All it proves is that top players who are not playing regularly and aren't wanted will want to go to United.

Whole different story to attract players that are playing every week and are happy at other top clubs.

Well yeh but right now.. we have Mata/Rooney/Januzaj/RVP/Kagawa.. as attacking options... something has to change. Unless Moyes really does want to keep it the same and flog Kagawa to Dortmund in exchange for Gundogan... I'd honestly take that straight away.

But Mata is more than capable of playing LW position. Start on the LW, drift centrally and as a play maker.

Even Fergie struggled big time to give Kagawa any mins as AM and with Rooney and RVP in the team it's hard for anyone to play centrally.

I don't mind playing with wingers just that we have to stop hitting crosses aimlessly and try to pass it to the players.

You've certainly helped United a lot in that respect as well, giving us a World-Class player other people will see that and it will send out a message that we can attract top players, doesn't matter.. look at our position... he didn't need to choose us... but he did. Could quite easily of took the easy option and stayed at Chelsea till the end of the season.

Yes. It's a whole different story attracting players playing regularly as it's hard to price away the player from big clubs.

Like I said we are paying very good wages for Mata and he is joining us as players believe we can compete at the top level.

Agree about it might send out a message to others. But I don't think this transfer is a very good example of the initial point. If Chelsea were desperate to keep Mata and United came in and plucked him away it would say a lot about United's pull in the transfer market, but under the circumstances that it happened it doesn't really show that.

Of course though, a top player signing could turn the heads of other players to join.
