The Manchester United Thread

thats very good, unless he flops spectacularly thats a great price for possibly nearly 20 years of service

all transfers are a gamble, but assuming he gets close to his potential its a great price, considering that his release clause did not apply to manchester united

Apparently the story (like most of Barcastuff's tweets) is BS.

But who the **** would accept a buy-back clause?! I'm not sure any top club would do it anyway, but particularly not when it's Barcelona..

Shows they've learnt from the Cesc saga at least. :) After all, if you're a Barcelona player, it's in your DNA to play when they want you.

Good thing is Thiago is not Catalan. Born in Italy, Grew up in Brazil. So hopefully he will realize there is NO Barca DNA in him :P

Man Utd have done buy back clauses with Spanish teams in the past, but the other way round. There was one (albeit with a 2 or 3 year expiry date) in place for Giuseppe Rossi's move to Villareal, which allowed Utd to bring him back for about 10 million. Unfortunately he didnt really blossom until after the clause expired :(

Thiago took Italian nationality on my FM save indeed. 'tis awesome. ^.^ But then I'm not sure if they define 'Barca DNA' by birthplace. Probably more that, if you're a player that they want with any tie to the city - You haz the DNA and must play for them.

He joined Barca aged 14, only a year older than Iniesta was when he joined from Albacete, do people regard Iniesta in the same way? he is seen as Barca through and through by all but the die hard Catalans.

Rossi is awesome indeed. We should bring him back anyway, just because.

We had first refusal on Rossi, not buy back clause isn't it.. Maybe wrong, but this was what i read..

Brown, Gibson are leaving probaly to sunderland/newcaslte.

Diouf and bebe will go out on loan proabley, wouldnt be supirsed if macheda went on loan again to gain experience.

I was a fan of obertan, but not fond of him now but he will stay, used for carling cup and mailny reserves for him tho :L

I think SAF once said that we have BB clause on Rossi. Would be interested if we activate that clause.

yeah that would be interesting maybe use berba for cash plus player deal wesley/modric

That would be good, though I rate Berbatov more than Rossi. But we need someone like Sneijder or Modric more than we need Berbatov, so, If it is necessary sell Berba to get one of those two ;)

anybody know whos leavin this summer brown, gibson, bebe, obertan, oshea, diouf etc?

Bebe gone on loan already, Brown and Gibson look to be heading out the door to Sunderland and Newcastle respectively. Don't want to see O'Shea go, still a good squad player when needed. Diouf will probs be out on loan again. Not sure on Obertan.
