The Manchester United Thread

So yeah, apparently Fulham will get some money if Smalling makes his england debut tonight due to a clause in our deal. Any United fans got more info on it?

Sneijder

There it is, Manchester United...
"I don't want to talk about this story. I am happy to have stayed because I have never thought of leaving. When we won the Italian Cup I went on vacation afterwards and in my mind I only thought about going back to training camp in Pinzolo. But the club called my agent and said that they needed the money and wanted to sell. So I talked with Manchester United, everybody knew about it. Then came the deal for Eto'o and things just changed."

Thank goodness that's the end of that. Cleverley>Wesley

in another life brother.

Cleverley is a good player, has potential of being something really big someday, but at this point Cleverley is nowhere near Wesley..

Looking forward to seeing Pogba in the Carling Cup this season hopefully!

I was talking Wesley Brown....

Seriously though you're correct for the moment but what I mean is that as long as Cleverley keeps playing the way he is atm there is no need for Sneijder

We dont need Sneijder this season if Cleverly keeps the performances he has been putting in, next golden boy? who knows?

We don't know until we try. As far as we know he could be better than Sneijder in 5 years time and costs 100x less

Sir Alex Ferguson does not believe Wesley Sneijder would have been the perfect player to fill the void left by Paul Scholes' retirement.

The Dutchman was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United

throughout the summer transfer window, with many experts suggesting that Ferguson needed to sign a creative midfielder after Scholes called time on his career.

However, a move never materialised and Ferguson has now revealed that he did not quite regard Sneijder

as the type of player he was looking for.

While the United manager maintains that he has a great deal of admiration for Inter Milan's

Sneijder, he believes that only Barcelona

duo Xavi and Andres Iniesta

can perform a similar role to Scholes.

"Sneijder is not the ideal replacement for Scholes," said Ferguson.

"He's a fantastic player but he was not who we were looking for to replace Scholes. Only Xavi and Iniesta are comparable to Scholes."

My point exactly, he is starting to prove himself and i think united have enough quality in Fletcher and Anderson aswell, they fit well into Sir Alexs system, and if its not going to plan we always have january to get some more cover, we dont need to panic buy IMO
