Not trying to troll here but...

Does United really want Modric. Because they signed Scholes to a one-year contract and he is one of the best regista's in the game. If they wanted Modric, would it not have been more sensible to release Scholes. I understand that Scholes is 38 and cant play every game so Modric is still a possibility but then I read some Ma Utd fans posting how Cleverely/Anderson would step up when Scholes retires

So if United do get Modric then would it not block the paths of these 2 youngsters? Feel free to tell me if I am completely wrong because I have no idea how United plan to integrate Anderson/Cleverely

the thing is United play around 60 matches and where scholes will come in this season is when we need to keep possession in the closing stages of the game. Anderson hopefully has a good luck with injuries because this is his last chance, as for cleverley he needs to proove that the start of last season was not a fluke. I hope they both come good. as for modric he'll be a brilliant partner to Carrick as he can keep the possession under pressure. I was quite impressed with the performance of moutinho against SpAin too. I think he'll cost a lot less.

Pretty sure they do. Not only is Scholes pretty immobile - which isn't great - and a shoddy tackler, he can't start every game United need. He's a rotational player; a **** good rotational player, but one nonetheless.

Cleverley isn't a regista. He's quick, mobile, energetic and so on and so forth, but he cannot control a game like Modders or Scholes can, nor does he have their passing range. As such, he could be another rotational player or even play further up the field due to his versatility. The fact he has the attributes and intelligence to play anywhere from deep central midfield to the wing to behind the striker means that he's the perfect rotational player, and will as such get games.

Anderson? Meh. I think he's sub-standard, personally. He's quick and has boundless energy, but he's also a loose cannon who breaks down often. If I were Fergie, I'd offload him, but we'll see what happens there.

Pretty much nails it. Frankly think we should offload Anderson.

Can't help but feel our transfer business is probably done, apart from maybe an odd youngster, maybe Fergie will suprise us who knows.

Where on earth would Rodriguez play is what I want to know? Young, Nani, Park, Valencia, Kagawa, Giggs, Cleverly all play quite similar positions to which he can play. I'd imagine you'd try sell some before you signed him, probably Young.

Unlikely signing, and only to replace nani if contract talks dont go well.

Been linked to Moutinho today, with a reported fee of 31m euros. I'd be very pleased if this is true, he really impressed me again during the tournament and is a very well rounded player.

Yeah would be quality signing for our CM can pretty much do anything good passer and great work rate chips in with odd goals good in the tackle.

31m euros is a bit much but he would be a great signing. If AVB goes to Spurs then you could have some serious competition for him though which will only drive up his price

31m for Moutinho ? That's too much, 15-16 sounds right. He had solid season, and good tournament with Portugal, but no way he's worth that much.

Anyone know about a story doing the rounds, that if Leighton goes to Trafford, there's going to be 2 players leaving Old Trafford for Goodison?

I honestly do not want Leighton Baines, he is a very good Left Back do not get me wrong, but I feel 15-20m is very steep and partly because he is English and is nearly 28, I believe?

I feel we would be better letting Evra have another season and seeing how Fabio develops, possibly rotating him with Evra, if not sending him out on loan for the season.

I would much rather we spend that 15-20m towards a top class CM.

Would appear SAF doesn't want to pay the full £15 million either-favouring another price and adding two "short term" deals for 2 utd players. Still trying to find out how true that is though.

Tbf Leighton is better than Evra. Less mitake prone, dead ball specialist, better crosser of the ball-has great attributes. When it comes to valuation well thats the cost these days. May seem right, may seem wrong-just the way it is.

Not doubting Baines ability mate, top class Left Back. But considering we should still be in the market for a top class CM and we are not exactly big spenders of late, I fear buying Baines may sacrifice us buying a top class CM as well.

Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if there's a bid for Fellaini either. Us Everton fans normally expect one each window lol

Big fan of Fellaini but I'm not sure Everton would let us have two players from them, but who knows, would be a huge blow for Everton. If he stays at Everton I will be interested into watching how he plays further up the field, as David Moyes has said he will do.

Probably right-but anything can happen in football these days. If we lost them both the consequences would be catastrophic. I'm not sure if I'd like to see Fell playing too far upfield as he's an outstanding anchorman. Rather see him reducing the workload on the back four.
