The Manchester United Thread

Also I think it's mentioned we will have net spend of 40 Million apart from Kagawa and Powell. So I think we will sign at least 2 players. Maybe we would have already had we not lost our targets so maybe we will sign players who were not first choice in SAF plans.

I thought the 40 included them, leaving us with 28m or so. Hence my worry over RVP. with 40 left at least it leaves us with one more player.

Entertaining game. Still feeling that we are short in CM far too much for comfort going into the season. Will likely come back to bite us.

That means Valencia or Nani will get less games. With the way things are going Nani is absolutely must along wit Kagawa. We will have some talent on bench and can change game at any moment, but still think we are taking big risk going for RVP when we have good talent in the position.

Young and Nani will be the ones to suffer imo. But I agree the deal is totally unnecessary.

Considering its the Glazers, I would go mental. Just mental.
Me to would go just mad, but think it will happen to most clubs sooner or later as we dont have wage caps and is good way to make money. But no matter what happens will always call it old trafford!

Read somewhere it is excluding them, not sure. Also I think it is minimum of 40M, not the limit.

Yeah, or maybe Rafael as SAF will try to push Valencia to RB with Nani as RW.

Anyways after all these we just have to trust SAF as the man knows many things that we don't.

And before all these signings Gill has to sit and sort the ******* deal with Welbeck and Nani. We can't afford to lose anymore talents.

Was defo 40m excluding kagawa and powell and that was minimum, i know RVP is not key signing but if we got a CM aswell then would be very happy:D

Was genuinely hoping for a new midfielder signing this season, but are disappointed with the club's attempts to sign Moura and Van Persie. I have no idea what's going on in Fergie's mind, he goes for players who play in positions which we have plenty of cover (striker, winger) and does not even try to solve our issue in the middle of the field. I mean Sahin is basically available in the market for a low price and we weren't even linked with him.

If Carrick gets a long term injury we would definitely crush out of Europe and lose out in the title race. Not feeling optimistic for the first time in many years with the season opener edging closer.

Still time yet mate, dont panic sore inteview with gill on MUTV saying united are trying to sign couple more players aswell as RVP and the club has funds to do so even without putting shares on IPO/market.

It's including Powell and Kagawa. £25m net spend for the future seasons.

Then I think it is the minimum not the limit? Like I said not sure where I read and I'm not able to find the link.

It was the United roadshow, I didn't watch it, but Andersred said that they said £40m net spend was available for this season, with Powell and Kagawa already eating into that, Moura was never really on the cards and it'd indicate RVP was the true target for this year.

I thought 40 Million was the minimum net spend not maximum. Bit weird as there are reports and Lucas was all but done then PSG made the bid. It would have taken our net spend well over 40m.

Nope, expected spend unfortunately. Then £25m per season in the future. I imagine there's a certain leeway for the right player, though. Suspect we might be able to sneak a LB + RVP (If he is the target), plus the Park money.
