Lets say it this way. Back then, Rooney was a risk. He could turn bad, he could turn world class. But the point, at the moment, he was just a youngster. You got 30m for a youngster. We gave Howard, Saha and Neville when they were in prime. So yea, you owe usHoward>inury prone Saha>Neville>slammed Gibbo for world class Rooney....call it evens lol

That was always the problem, wasn't it ? You're not our feeder club, that like saying we are Reals feeder club. You sold Rooney because you wanted, ofcourse big part played that 30 mill. About Mancini, I said it few times and I got into some rough arguments - he is not top club manager and I don't rate him at all.Ahhh but...how much of that money went to the bank :S
Have to say though, I still think selling Neville was a mistake-I've always thought that. And Howard too-the number of pens he saved. Though it's safe to say we've become a feeder club for both City and Utd. Which makes me sad as Mancini comes across as an arrogant ****.
Well okay I retract that a bit, as we've only sold Rooney to Utd so far, but there's a risk of future transfers. Which is understandable. Utd are the best club in English footballing history. Whereas City seem to buy for the sake of it

People seems to forget that he managed Inter before Man City. Last year he won the title, yes, but with his team and competition ( Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal all having much weaker team then City) he should won it by 10 points.Mancini is raw imo. He has ability and potential, but is too....tempremental. Sort of. He can't handle pressure just yet. He's gone to a "big" club too soon with expectations thrust upon him too soon. Man City are still not a big club. Yes they've won the title, but they're only big in a financial sense. There's little team cohesion that's apparent. They've jumped the stepping stones too quickly and expect too much

Not to mention that Inter when dominated Italy had no competition. Juve was in Seria B, Milan had **** team and -8 points. It was easy for Mancini and Inter. And there lies the misconception. The Premier League is a totally different kettle of fish. It is so different compared to European continental leagues. For one thing he's dealing with Fergie. And there just isn't an easy match from top to bottom anymore

Yep, British press is the worst. Not a lot men have mentality to put media aside and concentrate on your own tasks. Even less can use media in their own advantage. Like you said, Sheik had high expectations, players in club were hungry for success, and if you can't deliver it, then your world is getting smaller everyday till you snap. It seems to me that Mancini doesn't have personalty of a winner, something you need if you're going to manage club in BPL.Exactly. It's not just the physcicallity of opponents, but also expectations. But when you're a premiership manager with bagloads of cash, the expectations are through the roof, coupled with pressure from fans too. You have to deal with literally everything both on and off the pitch

Schweinsteiger was never ball winning mid. If Bayern needed someone to do dirty job, then they gave it to Luiz Gustavo, and before Gustavo there was van Bommel.
I'm not saying he is, but he has a presence in the middle of the park, a physical one which is something we have lacked all through this season and all through the last. So if we did get someone I would hope it would be someone who is a ball-winner but has something more to their game as well. I would definitely try a Fellaini/Tiote/Bender. There is no excuse for us not to have one as it seems to be pretty much clear to everyone apart from SAF and it has been a persistent problem for some time now.
Honestly I would of took a punt on Moutinho who could of been prized away from Porto. Dare I say was the funds we had for that transfer window spent on RVP? As good as he has been I would of still preferred someone like those mentioned as a midfield enforcer/ball-winner.
Ok, Schweini offers some physicality, yes, but still doesn't provide solution to our midfield problems. I was fan of Sandro, Tottenham got him, I was fan of Romulo, Spartak got him. Some people say that Vidal was perfect, I would argue with that. Now, there's a guy who reminds me of Yaya Toure, and that's Kara Mboji ( Yes, Kara from FM). He's a beast IRL, wouldn't cost much and still young player.I'm not saying he is, but he has a presence in the middle of the park, a physical one which is something we have lacked all through this season and all through the last. And I want Falcao. But we don't need them.I want Henrikh Mkhitaryan. He is a beast.

Great. Another one. I'll need to find another midfielder who will be bought for peanut and sell for gold.We were also strongly linked with him a year or two ago. Now he's joining Genk in january window. Deal is already done.
