The Manchester United Thread

If De Gea get's dropped for the derby this weekend because of the goal he conceded tonight I will go crazy.
Won't happen, Fergie has recently had the method of only dropping De Gea and Lindegaard after big mistakes. Nothing De Gea could have done about the goal tonight so he will be playing on the weekend

I'd personally pick Guardiola every time. But Mourinho wouldn't be the worst alternative in the world :D

Hope you pick Pep and Jose kills you with City/Chelsea.

Moyes is coming and he's bringing the big haired one with him. I imagine Ajt already has 3 different templates for the inevitable mammoth rant he'll go on.

Is it easier to have templates on a typewriter?

Really? That doesn't seem very Fergie. I bet that's been misquoted/misreported somehow. Dropping players for making a singular mistake just means that you get far less continuity and cohesiveness.

Sorry, I meant that if the GK starts to show weakness in an area, like recently we have conceeded a few goals from corners Fergie swaps them, but your right it may indeed be misreported. It seemed a credible source, but I can't remember it now. BTW do you know how much longer Kagawa is out for?

I see.I don't think that's the case, and I expect De Gea to play, but at the moment it seems a bit of a lottery.

Physioroom reports Kagawa's back on Sunday.

Pep over Jose? lol.. thats like wanting Hughton over Di Mat.. please...

Just read that we made an enquiry about Sterling.Dont know what to say.The lad will develop into a star but he is from liverpool ! never thought united will want to sign a liverpool guy.

It's because of the contract issues they're having with him, one of the best young players in England so doesn't surprise me that they'd want to sign him before someone else comes in for him.
Would probably take some decent signings in January to convince him to stay though, so he'll probably hold out until then.

Januzaj just made fantastic back heel assist in the FA youth cup game. 1-1 at HT. Very talented player with superb close control.

Sterling stuff wreaks of 'rivals having contract issues? unsettle unsettle unsettle"

Doubt anything will come of it. Sterling seems relatively loyal to Liverpool, and to be honest, if he thinks he'd get more than 22/26 games somewhere else this season, he's a bit out of it.

Hardly. Sterling's the one refusing to sign for some time now. People are only showing interest as he lengthens the delay.

He has been riding it out for some time, honestly not surprised teams are declaring an interest him with January fast approaching.
Guessing he'll wait it out until the end of Jan or the season to see if Liverpool make any solid moves forward in the transfer market.

Indeed, clubs are only showing an interest because he isnt committing to what to be a nailed on deal.

Getting a bit sick of this Mancini/Ferguson war of words. Mainly because they both end up sounding like stupid complaining twats.

God ... I want us to win so badly but I'm realistic and I think we will lose in a humiliating way, like 3-0 / 4-1, and that's because we are missing at least 3 key players, Vidic, Valencia and of course, Kagawa.Shinji is our only player who can create a goal out of nothing, he is at the same level as Silva, Ozil, Hazard etc.
I hope the lads will prove me wrong though, and they will win, or at least draw.

You mean like Rodgers complaining, or Dalglish about everything?

It's a derby between title challengers, two managers having small jibes before a huge match. Its hardly a war of words.

When did Valencia become a key player? And Kagawa - how many games has he played to be considered a key player? Yes Vidic is, but apart from him Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie are our key players.

And what's with the attitude? I would accept if you think we will lose but "in a humiliating way"?

Second half of last season and 2010-11 season, Valencia was irreplaceable, probably first name on the team sheet during second half of last season.

Valencia is one of Fergie's favorite, and like sunilvk said, he was the first name on the team sheet. In his top form he can and he is the best winger in Premier League, maybe in Europe because he has great speed, good dribbling, quality crosses, and he also tracks back a lot.

And since he is not in top form he is not a key player. Rooney is a key player because he's performed well for us for more than one half season... Also being a favorite doesn't mean he is a key player. Valencia is a starter but hardly has the quality to be a key player. For example a mixture of Nani's quality and Valencia's consistency would be a player who I would consider a key player for us.
