The Manchester United Thread

They should and will get fined for it and both the person who entered the pitch above (who looks like an absolute mug) and the person who threw the coin will rightfully be banned but.....In my opinion the situation could have been avoided by Rio not celebrating in front of the City fans, he is an experienced player and should know better. It was also something i bought up about Hernandez in the who Clattenburg game vs Chelsea. He celebrated right infront of the Chelsea fans gestering his "C" celebration to the Chelsea crowed and a steward got hurt and was taken to hospital. Now before i get it from all angles i am not condoning the actions from the fans in both incidents but players can help the situation.

Weren't the Man Utd fans behind the goal that RVP scored at? So the players weren't trying to celebrate in front of Man City fans but celebrating in front of their own fans.

Thought he was by the City-Utd fans divide and coin seemed as if it came from straight on not at an angle. I am not saying he deserves it because that's not true but he could have prevented it.

Good to see the X factor have a sense of humour.

They were at the United fans, not the city fans. So he did nothing wrong.

Pleaase tell me that's photoshopped and they were not in the XFactor audience. My respect for them has plummeted :'(

Any number is too many though. And 2 beer bottles on the field of play? Sickening beyond words. The crass neandarthal (sp) mentality of some so-called "fans" defies belief. If I had my way these morons would get jail time

Not to mention the numerous items you could see flying across on the tv camera alone. It was absolutely sickening to say the least.

I didn't see the match myself due to an immense hangover, but from what I've heard it was absolutely appalling. Again it's a case where a great match should be the main headlines but sadly I suspect not.

Oh and I would personally like to thank Mancini starting Balotelli. He was absolutely useless and definitely helped the Reds cause.

And his little ***** fit at being substituted in the 50th minute was just as entertaining, it amazes me that he gets paid so much to be such a child.

Been saying for a while Balotelli isn't worth the trouble. Immensely talented, but not worth the downsides. Fergie wouldn't tolerate anything like that.

My biggest football desire is Balotelli transfering to Liverpool.

Popcorn, beer, watching Balotelli and Suarez interact = day well spend.

Well, I'm going to play devil's advocate (sort of) here, and say that while I agree that Tevez should've startead ahead of Balotelli (or, if Mancini really felt the need to start Balotelli, I think Tevez or even Dzeko complement his game better than Agüero), I think Balotelli is a great player, although out of form, and I think the blame lies with Mancini here rather than Mario. That said, it's also worth mentioning that Mancini's increasingly bizarre rotation is hardly doing his team any favours, not that I'm complaining...

Domestically, Balotelli hasn't been 'in-form' for about two years.

Been saying that since last season. He is a liability off the pitch and hardly consistent enough on the pitch to make up for it.

Although the amount of patience Mancini has with him, Its surprising. I remember Mourinho saying how if Balotelli gave 100% of himself in training, he could be the best player in the world. Must be seriously talented to justify Mancini's patience with him.

Either that, or Mancini's a fool. Mourinho gave up on him, and there's few better at getting the best out of players than Jose.

He has, however, shown flashes of brilliance with some regularity -a certain 6-1 victory comes to mind-, something that hasn't happened at all this season....
