The Manchester United Thread

33% Italian, 33% Brazilian, 33% Spanish and rest 1% I don't know ;)

That must be where his Catalan DNA resides, which Barca will inevitably claim he has 4 years down the line once they realise their monumental **** up and do another Fabregas.

Born to brazilian parents in Italy, he's about as Spanish as my left nut. Furthermore, born to brazilian parents in a country with a red, white and green flag, product of La Masía and moving to England in his quest for stardom... kinda rings a bell.

The Brazilianness is in the name!

At least you know how Arsenal fans felt then. Except you'll still be winning stuff. So nothing like Arsenal fans, I guess.

How can he be a third of a nationality if he has four grandparents? I'm confused :(

He's 1/3 brazilian because both his parents are, 1/3 italian because that's where he was born, and 1/3 spanish because he plays for them after residing in the country for some time.

We lost Strootman to Roma, now we lost Thiago to Bayern...

**** happens... Every summer...

We didn't even bid for Strootman. Wasn't any contact for a month, and Strootman himself said it wasn't a very top side interested in him. We're in a straight up fight for Thiago.

See I knew I was right... we're absolutely hopeless at signing midfielders. If we don't sign a class CM this summer consider ourselves out of the title race before it has began. Last season we got lucky as opponents were not that great and I can't see it happening this time with better managers and better squads ultimately.

Edit: I may be exaggerating but it so annoys me how we always miss out on the midfielders. Thiago would of been great for us...

One he hasn't even moved/agreed. Two we played better last year that the season before. Three, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

You are exaggerating, so what is the crux of your point?

The thing I don't get is if he is interested in playing time then why would he even consider Bayern, their midfield is phenominal whereas we can guarantee regular playing time.

I don't see the sense, and talking to another Bayern fan, he doesnt see the sense.

That said, Thiago has the potential to be as good/better than Xavi/Scholes.

As for midfielders in general, only panic if the window closes and its still the same. I agree, we dont want to go into next season with the same mid, but its far from over in terms of business.

that's right mate...
Martinez, Gustavo, Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Gotze, Muller, Shaqiri VS Carrick, Anderson, Cleverly, Fletcher...
