1. Have some info for you re: Fabregas pal should you want it?

2. You'll have to bear with me: it's done, 99%, barring a miracle, Barca and United have it all agreed. They're willing to sell to fund a CB

3. So it seems they'll be promoting Rafinha and Sergi Roberto (sp?) into their squad. No idea how good they are but that seems their plan.

4. Anyway, Fabregas' grief isn't over playing time, he's bad that, it's position and importance within the squad. He didn't play bit games

5. All out to get him, the prodigal son and all that, so even though he's not a fan favourite they want to save face.

6. Fee was agreed verbally a few weeks ago. As have been his wages/contract length/etc, the major details of his contract. He sounded out

7. United when he knew Barca would let him go for £35m. This whole "openly bidding" bollocks is to save barca's face, so they can look as if

8. They at least tried to keep him. Next "bid" to go in will be £35m and it'll be accepted and he'll be on the next plane to Manchester for

9. Medical and to sign. Club have decided there's no point him going on tour so he'll meet the squad in Manchester before they head to Sweden.

10. All said, it'll be done by August 1st.

Probably false but it would explain in a way why it has been made so public, no?

2nd is false at least as Rafinha isn't being promoted this year. He's off to loan. Sergi Roberto is highly rated and viewed as Xavi's successor at Barca.

Probably is false but I was lacking imaginative ideas as to why United have been so public of their pursuit for Fabregas and then stumbled across this on the most reliable of Twitter ;) .

Roberto has definitely been promoted to at least Rotation, although this was Tito saying it. Might be different under Martino.

Unless there is some kind of source/journalist that we can actually chase back? Not having it

Don't know where it came from, one of my friends retweeted it. I would't take anything off twitter as remotely true by 95% of people until I see it actually happen. But as stories go, this was quite imaginative and did explain to me why it has been so mysteriously made public throughout it all.

I have to ask the question when does the point come where we go for another target because at the moment we're looking at starting the season with Cleverley, Anderson and Carrick. Not the most confidence boosting midfield in the world, challenging for what we should be.

We probably do have more targets that we are working on getting, just Fabregas is just the big name.

well we had the same last season and that went ok

Opponents were weaker... how many times did we have to come from behind. Not to mention our lack of any European success for a fair old while.

We can't rely on that midfield if we want to challenge this season, it's not an option in my book.

Yeah, why win the Champions League when you can win the prem? Sounds perfectly logical to me.

/not.

We could probably just about get away with it again in the league. But "getting away with it" is not enough. And that is before we even talk about Champions League football.

We do have other targets, he specifically mentioned that. Just didnt give any names.

Rumour going round twitter that Fabregas officials has told Barcelona to accept United bid. Obviously as I say it's twitter... but who knows.
