The Manchester United Thread

I don't think he will add much to the squad imho. He is not a United player imo and for the amount they want for him is just stupid. Yes he adds aerial ability, however will he unlock a defense? Doubtful. Our trouble so far has been beating the top class defences and didn't have much of a look in for either the chelsea or liverpool game. Possession was in favour, play was in favour and yet we still couldn't score.

For a start, he will add lot of stability to the midfield.

Carrick - Fellaini >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Carrick - Cleverely/Anderson.

Fellaini is better at tackling, passing, winning aerial duels, physical presence, not afraid to go for tackles. Miles better than all our Cms bar Carrick.

Hence why we're going for Herrera AND Fellaini.

But why break the transfer record for Herrera when the price for Ozil is 10m more? Ozil was priced at 42m the release clause for Herrera is 32m. Yet Ozil had the most assists in La Liga tied with Messi at 47. Just stump up the money and hijack the deal.

Because Ozil and Herrera are completely different players.

I disagree, I think he is better at winning tackles and aerial duels, physical stuff but will he change games? No. Cleverley is a better passer of the ball and can assist. Fellaini is a complete panic buy due to not getting any of his proper targets. Moyes has left it late and now gonna end up overspending on an average player imo.

Ozil is AM, plays behind the striker. Herrera is a CM.

I'm not trying to say they are not, however I was trying to say that Ozil would be a much better buy than Herrera imo. We lack creativity and I believe he would help with that.

Cleverley can assist? When was the last time Cleverley completed a forward pass nevermind assist.

Well, mostly different. Their aim is similar, but their styles are very different.

Buying Ozil wouldn't help your midfield's structure like Ander will.

Fellaini is more of a game changer than Cleverley is.

Kagawa Rooney Nani behind RVP offers creativity. I love Ozil a lot and would love to see him at United but he won't solve our problems.

We lack a midfield. We have done for about 3 years.

Fellaini gives us options. We have literally no ball winner in midfield at the club. You don't have to score hattricks every game to be an asset to the team you know? Bayern paid £36m for Martinez, is he going to unlock defences? No. But tell me he wasn't worth every penny for them.

Is this where I point out Cleverley had a higher % of forward passes than Scholes last season?

Although, amusingly, it's still lower than Van Persie...

Not sure about Scholes % last season, but this season Cleverley's first instinct is to pass backward and even his first touch makes sure he pass backwards. As a deep midfielder it's frustrating to watch so many sideways passes with slowing down our tempo to almost 0.

Why does every signing have to be a game-changer in your world to make it a good one?

Yeah, I don't disagree. I like Cleverley, but he needs to diversify a bit.

He was good till the Madrid game, after that he looks devoid of any confidence in his ability. When he started for ManUtd, he was lively now he is playing very very safe game.

Too say Fellaini is an average player is absolutely ridiculous. He's been Everton's best player next to Baines for the past couple of seasons and he is one of Belgium's brightest talents and stands out every single season as a player who has extremely good ability. Fellaini is his own right is one of the best players in the Premier League in his position and I stand by that
