The Manchester United Thread

If we got Herrera and Fellaini I'd be very happy.

Fellaini offers that presence and physical nature that we've lacked since we lost Keane, while Herrera is a very good technical midfielder capable of doing a bit of everything to a high standard. Also gives us options in midfield.

Something telling me it just won't happen though.

Fellaini is a very good player, most people think just because he's tall and looks a bit un-natural on the ball that's he's not good with it. But he very good all round player, the thought of Fellaini at Man United gets me excited, can play a variety of roles.

It sounds positive on both fronts from what I can see. Why you think it won't happen?

Yeah he left the training ground bout 10 mins ago, so I hazard to guess he's on his way

Why didn't we just ****** meet the release clause in the first place! Now we've got a big afro zooming up/down the M62 at 20.00 in the evening on transfer deadline day.

Dunno just something eating at me that means it will get left undone. I can see Fellaini being completed on the deadline now, but we'll miss out on Herrera. Which does indeed make me sad.

Exactly. Plus he was a realistic target unlike others and we should have gone for him much earlier as I said a couple of weeks ago even when I got frustrated by us chasing players such as FABREGAS who are better (yes I know they play in difrent positions!) but were NEVER going to come.

I still think we should also have gone for OZIL rather than HERRERA plus COENTRAO rather than BAINES (who we are not going to get it seems so lets all pray that the glass FABIO is made of wont break too often cos BUTTNER frankly gives me the shivers).

Ozil cant play CM. Bit of a non starter vs. Herrera. Madrid also reversed their view on Coentrao

I'd actually say from things I've seen Herrera looks more likely than Fellaini. Although no one is really sure what is going on with Fellaini.

Because he didnt think he was worth 23m and thought he could get him for less.

He is probably going to be wrong, but it might get up being a structured deal vs 23m up front

Can't see it being under 23m personally.

Even if we get both players, the United heirarchy need to have words with each other about how they do business and clauses when the window closes. Failing to hit targets is fine, but how they have done it is pretty poor.

If we miss out on Herrera because of paperwork not getting done it'd be unacceptable.

Any update on the Herrera current situation you know of?

AS say that the reps are on their way back to the office to complete the paperwork. Guardian saying that we'll have till midnight to do it if Bilbao and United give the prem a deal sheet before 11.
