The Manchester United Thread

@Mike
Just because we won against Liverpool doesn't mean it was good game. They could've score a couple, but they didn't so we won.
Yes, only thing stopping us from getting Oezil was Rooney. I would be pleased if we sold Rooney and got Oezil. That doesn't mean Rooney isn't our best player this season, however I do believe United would be better team with Oezil.

Rooney vs Ozil isnt the issue here, its the platform behind them, the lack of organisation and mobility, and basic defensive errors.

Some of our play against Liverpool was excellent.

Don't get me wrong, I love having Rooney at United, but I think we would be better with Oezil. I'm sorry, but Rooney is far from creative midfielder who can create 3-4 chances almost every game. He's slow in transition, he is slow with the ball, but to be honest, he's improving there.
We can be brilliant at moments, but it's very inconsistent. It took 80 ****** minutes to create few chances due Nani and Januzaj. Problem today was defense bar obvious 'how to create something' thing we are used to. I don't know if Vidic is injured, and I'm positive he's not, then why the **** wouldn't he play against physical striker like Anichebe? Ferdinand is scared of the ball, he just runs from it. Evans is decent, and probably second best defender in our squad, but he cant deal with strong forwards. I honestly do not understand Moyes sometimes. And I don't want to talk about our transfer team. They made mess this summer and I hope they will improve something in January.

How on Earth is Rooney the one being discussed here? It's entirely beside the point. Of all the people in the team, you start ragging on the only one that's actually shown sustained desire, work ethic and above all else quality and form? ******* really?

Where did I rag about Rooney. Find it. Quote it.

Edit:
Sorry misread it. But still, GC making ignorant posts, no ******* way.

Would you like to make a counter-point instead of just blind ad-hominem?

I'm starting to develop new appreciation of just how good SAF actually was.

Last season was one of his greatest achievements, in my eyes. Dragging a totally lopsided and inadequate side to a truly dominating title win highlighted just how good he was.

On the other hand, it did leave his successor with a bit of a predicament.

Oh, they did, but I think everyone - including United - were rather lulled into overrating a badly inadequate squad due to Ferguson's ability to raise them to a higher level. It's United's fault Moyes doesn't have a stronger squad, but you can almost see why.

There is nothing wrong with the "squad". Moyes got one of the best squad, all he needed to do was just sign 2 CMs who could walk into the first 11 and he didn't.

After first few games people are underrating ManUtd squad (which was the story forever).

GK: De Gea and Lindegaard (One of the best in the league and a decent back up)

RB: Rafael, Fabio, Jones. Rafael was arguable best RB last season and only Zabaleta can be argued as better. Jones, Fabio are decent back ups.

CB: Fully fit Vidic, Smalling, Evans, Jones and Rio. That's more strength in depth than any team in the league and also Smalling/Evans with Vidic is as good as any in the league. Rio is past it but the depth is superb.

LB: Evra, Fabio, Buttner. Probably not a good back up in Buttner but the first choice Evra is up there with anyone in the league. It was plain for everyone to see what Evra brings to the team yesterday. Attack was non existent with Buttner there and with Evra we mount so many attacks from the left wing.

RW: Nani, Valencia, Young. Nani with run of games is one the best winger in the league. Valencia is in poor form but still you don't get a back up option of his quality.

LW: Kagawa, Young and Welbeck. Probably our weak link as Kagawa is still adapting that role for United and Young is **** poor.

CM: Carrick, Fellaini, Anderson, Cleverley. Not as bad as last season as we have added Fellaini but sill our weakest link. But the 2 put together is better than most teams in the league except the top quality teams.

Forwards: Rooney, RVP, Hernanedz, Welbeck. Tat's as good as any forward line in the league. Rooney and RVP are among the best in the world.

Squad is no where near average, it's very good squad with superb depth. Just that Moyes with his **** poor team selections is not able to get result and it's understandable as he needs time to adapt and make the team play as he wants.

Fergie left team in the best possible condition bar CM. So many fantastic young players and players in their peak. It's just that our sloppy transfer window that is costing us.

I think United left Moyes with the issue. Transfer window was a shambles.

Issue was pretty simpler one. Sign 2 CMs in 3 months. How hard was it?

Moyes didn't rate United scouting report so didn't want to sign based on the reports. (Thiago's case was reported like that)

We could have signed Paulinho, Capoue and many more CMs who would have improved our first team but he chose not to for whatever reasons. Superb squad and all it needed was 2 CMs.

WTF, Is he digging himself a hole he doesn't want to get out of? You don't ****** say this at the start of the season pretty much.... what a way to ****** dishearten players and give them even less respect for him. **** sake out of all the managers and we got Moyes... not even referring to the performances (even though they've been ****), I'm referring to everything he is doing off the field as well. Should of got ****** Klopp, imagine him with the likes of Kagawa.

Such a morale boost for the players which at the moment must be sky high .....

Can you see Fergie doing this kind of stuff?

At least two of the payers have pointed out we need reinforcements. I'm also willing to bet you easy money that the quotes are different.

Also he isnt SAF, no one is, expecting him to be at that level is retarded, it took the great one 4 years pretty sure we can give Moyes a **** of a lot more than 8 weeks.

Agreed. People are far too quick to jump on the United-hated bandwagon, despite the fact they manage to defy the critics every year. Even under Fergie, the comments at the start of every season were along the lines of "United looked weak this year, they won't win the title", just because of a bad start. It's pretty ridiculous, to be honest.

Hearing reports that we will have Fletcher back in a month or so, and if these rumours are true, then our Mid may be able to cope if Carrick or Fellaini gets injured, or at the very least our midfield problems will be slightly lessened.

As regards what Moyes has stupidly come out and said, why the **** would he say that for christ sake? Sure he is right we have no chance winning it, and sure as **** every United fan has already come to the conclusion that more than likely this won't be our season. But Moyes has just come right out and figuratively ***** slapped the squad, a squad who most likely have terrible morale after one of the worst starts to a campaign we have had for a while. A squad who most likely are harboring some questions as to Moyes' dodgy post match comments and pre-game selections. Very, very silly thing to come out and say. Down right stupid in fact.
