The Manchester United Thread

He's now got to go. That was the worst performance in a very very long time. He never was the right man. You can't replace a man who's won everything in football with a man who's won nothing, doesn't make any sence at all.

Argh. I was worried this would happen. Gotta keep clawing a few wins and beating the **** teams, but getting tonked at home by an average side without creating anything is too far. I've got my fingers Moyes will turn it around.

Thing is though, this was probably the most realistic trophy Moyes could win this season, and his starting XI was this: Lindegaard; Smalling, Evans, Ferdinand, B?ttner; Valencia, Fletcher, Cleverley, Kagawa; Welbeck, Hernandez. with subs: De Gea, Fabio, Anderson, Carrick, Giggs, Zaha, Januzaj.

If you were Vidal, or somebody similar, why would you go to a side who falls apart at home and can't muster more than two shots in a half against Swansea? You'd have to massively overpay. Massively. Both on transfer fee and wages, as everyone knows Utd are desperate.

It was nice to see the Utd fans leaving early at home, and booing the players. After years of taking the **** from their fans about "this is how proper fans behave and support their club", with Fergie gone and the winning ways with him, finally they're showing they have a right to be frustrated (like fans of every other team) and can lose their smug bullshit.

We're in a Cup semi final, which is next week.... We have loads of injuries, and we play in 3 days.

Well, you have to hand it to Moyes, he really is helping other clubs make history at Old Trafford. xD

We need the creativity. Which doesn't currently exist in the side. You've missed the point i'm making

No Mike I understand you, believe me hence the edit to my post! - I didnt expect to win the league etc this year but there is only ONE reason we are playing WELL BELOW the squad's quality and thats MOYES as its the only thing that changed. I also see your point of giving him time - but there has been ABSOLUTELY NO IMPROVEMENT from match to match. **** even some of our victories (eg NORWICH) have been embarrassing.

Look at what Mourinho is doing with a (differently) problematic squad. I do. In envy.

Dude Chelsea have vastly more match winners than we do. Sorry, but an extra month is not time. **** me, you still haven't even give him the January window!

Maybe I'm old fashioned but I believe in midfield control and a dominating spine. Your consistency comes from your core. When we won 3 in a row, our core of midfielders were imperious. right now we are polo shaped.

If he wasn't sure about signing any players in January this should have seriously changed his mind! I have backed Moyes on all forums but it is hard after watching us play like this at home and have no shots on target in the entire 2nd half.

Will be fine when we have Fellaini back LOL

The players are to blame, but so is Moyes, his tactics are boring and it doesn't inspire the players to do any better.

Who would you rather play under Martinez with his approach to football? Or Moyes?

A lot of problems right now, some needs to be fixed in January, we need a big signing, even just for a spark, like what happened when RVP joined, but even more so now.

We cant play like Martinez, because we actually lack the midfield creator to do so. I'm still confused as to how you haven't grasped this. Our midfield create no chances, need to probably go back to 4-3-3, but where does that leave one of RVP and Rooney? in a 4-2-3-1, we require that player (as well as several players in the side needing to play at their best). Don't need a big signing, need the right signing. Need a catalyst of a player.

So? Martinez came in and made it happen with some very shrewd business. Moyes came in and ended up with.... wait for it.... wait.... Fellaini.

You make your own luck, Martinez would of come here and made his stamp with philosophy, what good managers do. Moyes has come in and been tactically inept with poor decision-making on and off the pitch.

Are any of the players he signed ones that would be at the level we need? No. and the second point is bollocks. To stamp his philosophy he would needed to have gone out and bought a top quality creative CM, oh wait that's what we tried to do too! Actually Moyes has been moving the side to high line pressuring play, if that is beaten they fall back to compact shape. I really don't think you ever watched Everton, because if you did you'd realise they were excellent off the ball in moving into defensive and attacking shapes, the players are simply not doing the defensive shapes well enough, and when we get on top we lack creativity. If a defender loses his man on the pitch, that's the player's fault.

If you don't like Moyes zezzzey just stick to it. But don't make up awful points to justify it. Because some of the arguments you've put across have been complete nonsense today.

Not awful, he has made bad decisions on and off the pitch since he has joined. The team has gone backwards, even though the squad has improved slightly compared to last year and we haven't done anything about it to solve the midfield problem in specific or any other area, for the matter.

How can everything be blamed on Woodward for the summer? Herrera we could of met the release clause before the last day and wouldn't of had the whole farce on the last day. Same goes for De Rossi and obviously Fellaini, oh and Coentrao.... You telling me it was Woodward's choice to leave all these until the last day? Balls was it.

The cold fact is that we need a defence splitting CM to make the most of the periods when we are on top. That and and LB can push us on this season. Then re jig further in the summer. But we really need that CM

Woodward has taken over Gill's role. you do understand that manager green lights, then CEO runs the transfers. How do you not already know this about the club you say you support, it's not even a secret its in SAFs books! How have you still not realised that we chased Baines and Fabregas as proirities and only switched tacks too late? So much revisionism in your posts. Go back, and follow the window from the start.

Herrera we needed about 3-4 weeks. At that point we were still chasing Faband the club had no idea it would be that complicated. So how is that entirely on Moyes? Or is he the one who should understand Spanish contract law and not the CEO and legal team

It's not all Moyes, but chasing Fabregas wasted like a month... so that was a mistake in itself. Fabregas was never ever ever joining.... oh and Koke would of been more realistic last summer.

Yeah this wasn't a Moyes problem. Arguably the club should have had a list drawn up already with a bit of help from Fergie etc and just needed Moyes to OK them.

Bit unhappy with Moyes myself though, what the **** does he think he's doing? Giving you lot a draw and a replay would been quite fine for everyone - but no, Moyes has had to go the extra mile, lose the game and empty Old Trafford in the 90th minute with the rest boo'ing him.

Seriously worried that he will get the sack now if this continues.

yes as I said not blameless, but as I've been saying it goes all the way around the club. Koke would have been an issue in the summer anyway, and same again now and next summer. But hindsight is 20/20.
