The Manchester United Thread

Agreed, but there is a lot of spare cash lying around, our own figures show that. Moyes doesn't just need time, he needs money too.

He has more than enough money ... Him and Woodward need to formulate a strategy on how to tackle the market in the summer because thats where they lost out last summer. With or without CL qualification, they need to move decisively

I am not saying he wasn't a world-class player at one time ... Its just that some people have taken it way too far in recent years saying he is the best midfielder ever and what not. Some time ago, Michael *** tweeted an interesting observation that Scholes barely every received any votes whenever he was in the running for the Ballon D' Or

He was definitely a brilliant player no doubt but hardly the best midfielder ever

And anyways I no one here said that of Scholes, I was just making a general post based on what I have seen other United fans tweet or post on other forums

lol ... I don't blame you for not understanding what I was saying when you have your head so far up ickle Scholesy's ***

So you missed the point then. You came on made a facetious post for no real reason. Is Scholes of the best midfielders (and playmakers) in last 20 years? yes. Is he a once in a generation player? yes. Was he world class? Undoubtedly. Why you made a point about 1 in a 1000 years considering no one mentioned it is beyond me....

Care to post the link of forums, tweets or anything where someone said Scholes it the best ever midfielder or are you going to continue posting nonsense by imaging things.

Are you gonna act dumbfuck everytime? Then they the **** did you post about Scholes when all someone said was we had a great team with Ronaldo, Scholes and I replied saying it's near impossible to replace players like Ronaldo and Scholes as they are once in generation players. Who said anything about best midfielder or best ever? You are so **** hurt about Scholes it's funny.

I think the best way to sum up Scholes, is that a player of his quality deserved at some point a World Cup medal, or a Euro winners medal because a player of his quality absolutely deserved it. It's just very sad he never got to receive one.

Coentrao, Di Maria, Ever Bangea, Kovacic is a FMesque wishful thinking but would be fantastic if we can buy at least 3 of them. It will be like summer of 2007 season.
In next 2 windows would like us to sign Koke,Mangala,Coentrao,Rakitic,Reus,Di Maria and Gundogan depending what happens with his new contract. Sign Mangala,Rakitic,Coentrao in Jan the rest in the summer that's me and seems doable.

Hmm, am I the only one quite excited to see Moyes with 200m and a "must buy" shopping trip on the cards?

He's the same guy who picked up Fellaini for 28m, he could wreck you lot for years with panic buys on massive contracts.

Jeez calm down, who knew such a innocuous post of mine can generate so much frustration from you ... I am actually tempted to continue because it's really funny seeing you get your knickers in a twist over essentially nothing

They have been some disastrous misses as well although he definitely has had more success than failure in the market ... Although to be fair, pretty large difference in operating in the market at this level. Summer will be interesting

I wouldn't continue unless you want to be infracted, you and sunil already walking a fine line from 2 days ago

Meh I guess the blame lies with me, I did not express myself clearly but I have no idea why he got so worked up about it

Have just read a quote that Vidic agent saying he will not renew his contract. Think it was in Guardian.

Ah, so we have a month of Moyes reportedly chasing players then ends up signing Baines for ?28m? (;

Moyes is fantastic at finding a bargain, but United need big names. Aren't his two biggest signings ever Fellaini [twice]?

SAF made some horrible transfers too, in fact he's made tons.. There's a lot more leeway to making bad signings at United so I wouldn't be too worried. Although going from signing players for <5m at Everton to 15m> at United is going to be an interesting challenge for Moyes.

This ... At Everton it was more of getting the best player you could with a low budget. Moyes found some fantastic bargains... At United, he will have money to spend so the question will be more of bringing in the right type of player for a fair sum

Me worked up? Ok. It's there for everyone to see who got worked up when someone mentioned Scholes.

Still didn't answer the actual point as usual.

Anyways continue with your usual posts. I'm done.

I agree partly. ManUtd is not all about signing big names. It's about signing young players with potential or a low budget punts. Yeah Everton and ManUtd shop in completely different market, so it will be a big test for him.

SAF record is fantastic. There are few horrific signings but he was at same club for 26 years so he is bound to make few bad ones. I wouldn't say he made tons of bad ones.
