The Manchester United Thread

Didn't mean it in a negative way, just United were willing to pay what was needed where others may have not.

He turned Liverpool down twice.... Falcao's father said it not me ^.^ *runs*

Hardly excuses. It's pretty much a fact that City wanted to sign him but couldn't due to FFP restrictions. It's also a fact that Arsenal are not the best in the transfer market as seen by their dithering over the years as the article explicitly mentions how they were only interested late on. Admittedly the Liverpool one is based on hypotheticals but I struggle to see why they would be interested strongly when they have Sturridge and Balotelli and FSG have traditionally been cost conscious owners

Also as I said, Madrid wanted to sign him but pulled the plug. Otherwise he would have gone there as his father said. So yeah you did have some good fortune go your way because you wouldn't have been able to beat Madrid

Again don't get me wrong, you did beat off clubs but maybe it's getting more than a little annoying how you keep dragging up old issues by saying that ' Oh person X said we can't sign players if other clubs are interested but look at this HAHAAHA'. Even the most ardent United fan will agree that lack of CL has hurt your pull slightly and perhaps more depending on the perception of the player

Well, thats not true, we're under the limit and could have easily gone for the loan with Negrado & Richards leaving, but i've no idea why they didnt in the end. We're well under the FFP restriction, and now a striker shy... baffling but not a major concern with the options left.

Tbh, he's not involved much in this game. Germany created everything from the middle and Argentina attacks pretty much always trough Di Maria.

Oh, Di Maria... the linchpin of Argentina, we're such lucky to have him, can't believe Real Madrid sacrificed him for new bling.

He is a player who should never have been available. Ridiculous decision really.

I can. Just waiting something new to shine in 2 years ( European Championship) so United can poach something else from RM ( maybe Bale? wink wink)

I honestly wouldn't rule it out before long. Maybe few more seasons.

I'd like Varane though.
