It is desperate, but then again, any move at this point would be.

I'm flabbergasted we'd pay £36m for this kid and not consider doing Griezzmann's release clause because what does it equate to roughly? £50m? I'd pay it for him rather than this fella, it's worth the extra money.

You cant just activate a spanish clause, and Griezmann doesnt want to leave.

I thought Griezzmann was a United fan? And he can buy it out himself or something along them lines.

Martial offer has gone up to 55million euros btw and Monaco have still said no is the latest.

If they reject the price can be forced up by an extra 25% through tax. And he may well be, but he doesn't want to leave them as it stands.

You just can't predict this transfer window... who the **** would think we'd be in a situation like this again after the start we made.

Striker who can play wide on both flanks. FWIW he is hugely talented, genuine wonderkid. An odd target for me though, because I would want experienced cover for Rooney.
 
Oh and he is ******* quick, I mean he is Luke Shaw style quick.

Gotcha, thanks, so it kind of makes sense as something we exactly need as to what he'd come in and offer pace/movement etc. Question is, IF this signing happens, what the **** does this mean for Rooney? He drops to no.10.

Don't spend this much on a player for him not to be a major part surely near enough straight away.

nah he's 19. IF this is real, this is someone for the next 5-6 years, look at him like Luke Shaw really. Which I get, we do need that between Rooney and Wilson (he's miles ahead of Wilson on the development curve). But you can still expect Rooney to start. Martial may start from bench or be deployed wide.

Oh yeh true, kinda forgot the out-wide bit, definitely could be a decent alternative to Mata as well by the sounds of it on that side of the pitch.

Monaco will play hard ball at this stage of the window and honestly who can blame them? We're going to get shafted and it's just a question if they're even going to sell now.

Put it this way, if we had someone like Zlatan around, I would say this is a brilliant but expensive deal. It's going to be asking a lot of him to be 2nd choice. Technically is he upto it? without question, but let's just say its a good thing there are a lot of leaders and experienced heads now in the squad.
 
Can he play winger? Aka, Take Mata's spot and be a winger/inside forward on the right so our attack isn't just focused on the left like it seems to be.

One thing we have on our side.... and it seems ridiculous to say this to justify a huge fee for a player like this, is that our net spend for this summer so far means we can overpay for a player in these last few days and be absolutely fine.

Clever business in one sense to sell all the players/release wages we have, but bonkers in another when how it comes to this now undeniably at this stage of the window spending huge on this kind of player.
