The Manchester United Thread

The season has barely started! City don't have the greatest squad strength in all areas. Namely central midfield and out wide. They've hit a hot streak, however I don't think it will last forever. Chelsea will get their **** together and Arsenal are just out of form and on a rare scoreless streak. United will challenge, provided as long as an alternative to Blind is found in central defence.

Out Wide? yeah we only have Sterling, Silva, Nasri, Navas & De Bruyne.
Central Mid maybe in terms of backup. Fernando, Fernandinho, Toure, Delph, Zuclini.

You've got 4 competitions to play for, you're first 11 might give teams a run for there money, but like i said based on the squads over a season, i'd still put United 3rd or 4th.

Loans and sales since last summer. Evans, Nani, Kagawa, hernandez, Evra, Di Maria, Falcao, RVP, Januzaj, Thorpe, Keane, Cleverley, Welbeck, Henriquez, Rafael, Buttner, Amos, Valdes soon? DDG? Wilson?

Rio and Vidic also last summer? or have i bypassed a season?

That is some number.

I don't think the exodus would be as big nor would we have signed two cm's.....

Not really a big exodus. Six first-team players have left on permanent transfers, and roughly half of them played regularly last season.

Blackett, Giggs, Lindegard, Fletcher.

Austin would be terrible though, we've got cash to splash, mayaswell aim higher.

Having been left in a situation of your own making, who, at this late stage, would you realistically get that's better?

You're reportedly about to have to drop an absurd (IMHO) £36 million on a novice kid. What do you think you'd have to go to for someone established?

Again, I don't know if Austin is ultimately of the required (or what should be) quality to play for Utd. But he's proven in the English game and is someone you can plug and play from the off. With the safety net that you'd get the bulk of the money back regardless if he didn't pan out down to him being English and proven here.

I get where you're coming from. I just think your being unrealistic at this late stage to expect much better.

I'd honestly rather pay another hyper inflated fee for another hot shot or for someone like Lukaku than get Austin.

Austin isn't good enough and he won't improve either at his age, very unlikely.

It's not like if we spend another £60m it will matter anyway.

My fave part of today was turning on sky sports and watching that ****** jim white saying the 4 we have signed this season were for large sums of money.

Bastian 6M and Darmian close to 13m you twonk.

This De Gea transfer may not have enough time to go through with Spanish transfer deadline of 11.pm tonight.

What an anti-climax that will be.

I'd imagine there'd been some spurious dispensation allowed for it to be completed after the deadline if everything is in place as happens here.

The proven in premiership carries little weight these days tbh.

Apparently very complex with Navas involved in the middle, as I can imagine, must be a shitload of work to do.

It's Real, they can do what they like or at least that's what they think.

Latest transfer update: Fred The Red is off as well. It's all happening.
