The Manchester United Thread

I honestly don't think we can afford to go so far behind City, right now if we lost that game for example and they won it would already be a gap of 8 points.

Neither of us is getting the title pal. Calm down. :P It's City's to lose.

The last few seasons will tell you such gaps mean nothing in september.

No game in september is a massive game unless its a derby or in Europe, and even the latter isn't always true.

You don't have a bigger 'derby', or game, in your season.

Ask old whisky nose sat in the stands there.

But to overturn such a deficit you need to be confident that at some point in the season you're team is going to deliver a long consistent run of results. At the moment I'm not that confident, depending on our incomings.

Losing Wilson, Chicharito, Januzaj and replacing him with just Martial isn't enough. If we get another incoming or two then I may have a bit more confidence that our squad can handle with our congested fixture list this season/amount of games we have to play.

No I don't, but what I do know is that's a monumental game now in terms of the season for both sides. Such a valuable 3 points to get.

Agreed. And Masimo Taibi. Just WHAT where y'all thinking there?

He then followed it up by being nutmegged his home debut by Le Tissier IIRC.

Hence to say he was shirt lived lol.

Zezzy was talking about points not prestige.

Even if it was prestige, I'm pretty sure United fans care more about beating City than Liverpool. No offence to them, but cross city rivals who are being successful right now, or league rivals who have been a bit **** for quite some time.

Oh yeh.... we've had our fair share of bad goalkeepers that's for sure. For some reason my initial thought was Barthez.

I'd rather beat City right now. I can only speak for myself, but beating City and Chelsea matter more to me right now.

@MichaelKOfori have heard two rumours about him. Nothing confirmed yet, though... but it's an interesting tweet in that context.

What does that even mean?? Griezzmann's tweet that is.

Try telling that to anyone at OT a week Sat'day. But give them a wide berth for the anger that will follow.

I actually hate L'pool/ Utd games. They're the violest games imaginable that bring out the very worst in human nature. It's a 90 minutes point scoring of the lowest levels imaginable. With death both ways at the root of it all. The football is secondary to two City's only 35 miles apart but a MILLION miles apart in the way we dress, speak, our taste in music, the whole gambit. You can never 'enjoy' those games. Particularly away. You're watching your back getting in and out. And then dealing with complete bellends among your own support reacting and baiting the opposition after all we've been through.

There's sadly no rivalry, that is in many respects out right hatred, in English football on the level of the Country's two most successful clubs.

For those of us that are from and still live in the City, the one game you always want to win above all others is Everton. We have to deal with the blue ***** on a daily basis.

But I don't need to tell you L'pool- Utd is off the charts for the majority of both sets of fans.
