The Manchester United Thread

Yesterday Mane also had very good game.

Chances created: 3
Crosses: 2/3 completed
Assists: 1
Take ons: 3/3 completed
Tackles: 3/4

Apart from these, he was very quick and worked his socks off.

We could be top of the league this time next week. When was the last time that happened? Don't think we will win the league but considering how well city have played and how ordinary we have looked to only be 2 points behind (without playing well) is a good thing because if we can click on the pitch and start to be more expressive and attack with runners and pace you never know where we might finish. Hopefully kompany and aguero keep picking up injuries as city are not the same without them.

We would have a lot of chance of winning the league had we done the obvious thing in summer and bought a developed authoritative cb. Blind is not it and if he was targeted with so much success vs Southampton I shudder to think what will happen against the top teams.

Would happily swap Rooney for him.

You could have Messi and Van Gaal would still play his captain instead.

Just watched the first half of Bayern and Wolfsburg, Wolfsburg more than holding their own Caliguri with the goal and he is playing well, Draxler has looked good in spurts also. Benaglio made 2 top drawer saves, but the player I have been most impressed with is Guilavogui, he is having a stormer has hit the post from the halfway line when Neuer got intercepted. Going to be a **** of a game next week if Wolfsburg play like this!

Until Lewandowski decided that enough is enough and scored 5 goals in 10 minutes.

I have literally just looked bck at the match after I got busy doing something at half time, bit shocked at the scoreline to say the least

We should get through this group, no excuses if we don't it will be an under-achievement not to progress.

But the pressure is on now, in the second game against Wolfsburg we've really gotta be picking up points and getting ourselves going. Disappointing loss against PSV but like I mentioned before, I thought we played some of our best football in an attacking sense in that match.

Be interesting to see the line-up we put out tomorrow vs Ipswich, I expect and hope we don't play Martial, give him some rest in preperation for the weekend. I'd like to see Wilson, Pereira, Lingard and others get a chance tomorrow to be honest. Least important competition and I put very small value on it.

I hate that the Premiership and Champions League money has brought around this attitude from clubs and fans.

I understand it (even if I don't agree); but I hate it all the same.

The league cup has been unimportant long before CL and prem money became big

The heck it was.

Clubs always used to be full strength and treated it with the respect it deserved before the Premiership. One of only three domestic competitions you can win in this Country. Your own club included.

It's only in the PL era that it started being devalued by certain bigger clubs prioritising. Then everyone followed suit.

Done a potential XI for tomorrow after the news of Rojo and McNair being out..

Young at LB, Pereira starts and Rooney gets another chance up front - Potential Manchester United XI vs Ipswich

Would you really play Schweinsteiger tomorrow with Sunderland only 3 days later? Think we want to be resting our key players for this match. However I agree with Rooney, he really needs to step up his game and wouldn't mind him playing tomorrow. I think LVG is going to have to drop him soon because I just don't think he is offering us much of anything right now. I would of dropped him already but that's another story.
