Doesnt he have a dodgy knee. Like one bad knee injury away from career over. Plus he is a well known lads lad, not something you want from a pro footballer. Some of the stories iv'e heard about austin in his swindon days...

It took this long for a PL team to snap him up, if he was as good as people was making out would of happened as soon as they were relegated.

It's mind boggling now that people associate players like Charlie feckin Austin as a good buy for United. Admittedly we are in a ****** situation but we should never stoop that low or else we're going backwards.

Average Age of Fergie squad might have been 26, but the first 11 wasn't even close.

De Gea, Rafael, Ferd, Vidic, Evra, Valencia, Scholes, Carrick, Young, RVP Rooney.

most the back up squad were just that backup.

3 of your back 4 needed replacing (Jones was erratic, still is, Smalling has only really grown into a 24/7 quality CB this/last year)

you're CM was pitiful outside of the 2 starters who were also getting on.

Moyes bought bad and didn't replace half of what he needed to, to get the job done. When all the teams around started getting more and more money to close the cushion United had in the market, they didnt replace what they needed to and paid the price for that and missing close to a full window in the replacement of the gaffer. Fergie left a fair bit of work on the first team itself.

Average age of that first 11 is 26.6. So that's more of less what I said.

Saying Jones was erratic, Smalling just became quality CB is wrong. They were the best young CBs when they were signed and they were signed as Rio and Vida replacement. Smalling has grown into the role whereas Jones has injury problems. When he was signed he played 40 plus games, that's massive for a young defender.

Scholes wasn't even the starter. He started just 8 league games. Cleverley started most games so like I said, Moyes had to sign CM to play with Carrick and a CB to replace Rio/Vida or play with Smalling. Rio was so good that he was in PFA team of the year and started 27 games. So we needed 1 quality CB to let Smalling and Jones grown into their roles.

That team needed 1 quality CB and CM and Moyes even ****** that up by signing none. Our CMs options were beyond pathetic and that's the only area Fergie ignored for very long.

Moyes was appointed long before the season ended. So he had lot of time to plan for the transfers before he took the office in July. He failed miserable on and off the field.

Thank god Wenger didn't use this logic when signing Ian Wright or Fulham used the same to sign Smalling, or Fergie used it to sign Irwin who was arguably the best LB we had. I can go on and give more examples but for now this will do.

I agree with you here. So many excellent players in the lower leagues, however I would still avoid austin just because of his attitude.

BTW what's the deal with Stones. He is hyped so much but I don't see anything that makes him so special in media eyes. He is good on ball but apart from that his defending looks very average. Maybe I just caught his bad games but for now I don't see what the hype is all about.

He is excellent on the ball but his positioning is pretty poor. He's pace allows him to recover very well though. Will improve the more games he has at centrehalf. Was a fullback for a while I think. Well overhyped by the english media but a good player nonetheless.

You're reading this all wrong, it's not about because of where he has come from or the leagues in which he plays. You've already stated he has scored a lot when he had season in PL with QPR so why would I base it off that?

Btw they are totally different comparisons, you have to assess a player as to who he is, his injury record is bad (something we definitely don't need) and has had a more than questionable attitude throughout his career. Not only that I know he is a goalscorer but I just would expect a better package as a striker than him. He may well get goals but I don't think he'd be a player like Martial who could win us a game from a moment of individual brilliance.

If he was so good though, why has he only just been sold and only for £4m? If he is good enough for top 4 sides then I don't see why it has taken his transfer this long to happen? Plus English players always have high price inflation more than the quality of what they really are.

Never heard of them. I heard about West Ham owner saying something about his knee though, something like there are no ligaments or something.

Leicester City are 12 points ahead of us (if the score remain same) and we will be playing Liverpool tomorrow. So we need to close 12 point gap in 16 games which is a massive ask. The way both teams are playing they will be extending the lead by another 12 points in 16 games.

For a neutral this is a brilliant PL season. So many ups and downs for all the teams and some real shockers when it comes to PL table.

I doubt it. Looks like he won't be sacked until top 4 becomes mathematically impossible like how Moyes was sacked. Don't see the point but I think he will be given time.

I don't disagree that from Utd's POV he needs gone yesterday. But I don't see who takes over at this time. And if they were going to do it, they'd surely of done it by now?

A serious thumping maybe might force the Glaziers hand. But I don't see them acting on just a defeat.

It wouldn't be acting on a single defeat it would be acting on one of the worst runs of form this club has endured. Unless two wins, one against a league one team totally erases that from everyone's memory?

The question of who would we turn to now is a valid point though, but sometimes a change becomes desperately necessary that it has to happen right away just to give the whole place a lift and things a shake up. Not to mention to try and salvage this season with top 4.
