The Manchester United Thread

Last time I checked, The Interim One is available.

Rafa? God that would be hilarious to see.

There'd be a meltdown among United's support that would make Van Gaal look like he had full support.

And then you'd get the part of our support that dotes on him turning on him for going there.

It would be EPIC carnage.

For what possible reason? I doubt they're as spoiled as the Madrid fans, where the press and most of the fanbase had it out for the poor guy before he even started.

For what possible reason? Seriously?

<<<<< Points to the club 35 miles down the road and how they hated his guts when he was there.

Oh yeah, that and he makes Van Gaal's Utd look like a sparkling attacking unit.

Just ask the Utd fans here if they'd like him.

Lol, if Rafa to United ever happens, I'm seriously done with football.

Who honestly gives a rats *** about **** like this? Capello worked in Milan, Juve, Roma, and nobody batted an eye. Managers don't have as much as flexibility as players to avoid working for rival clubs, they have go where the job is. Any person that's not a complete ******* understands this.

Why would we accept a Liverpool reject? We are suppose to be the better team. Would look weird if we went ahead and were managed by a manager that was sacked by them.

*Officially 'by mutual consent.' But a sacking nonetheless to all intents and purposes.

Tyton. Exhibit Two.

You really have to understand the depth of hatred, uhmmmm, 'feeling' between the two set's of supporters to appreciate that's a completely batshit crazy idea. As funny as it would be to see in practice.

If Rafa went to Utd I do admit I would chuckle.

Fact.

Fat Spanish waiter? At United? no thanks, especially seeing as he has been sacked (or effectively sacked) by majority of his last few clubs. I'd be saying no just because of that, then you have reasons such as Ex Liverpool manager, doesn't play nice attacking football, and let's face it, majority of us here has a problem with LVG's style of play at the moment, and that is both sets of fans who either want him gone or not. Rafa does not tick a single box for United's future manager.

Only reason I would be against Rafa is because he's ex Liverpool manager. Once you do that, there's no way to purify that evil from your body. No exorcism known to man kind could do the trick.

I'm afraid majority doesn't mean what you think it means.

Valencia - mutual consent
Liverpool - mutal consent
Inter - sacked
Chelsea - contract run out, he got the Napoli offer
Napoli - contract run out, he got the Madrid offer
Madrid - sacked, but they would sack even Jesus, so it barely counts as half a sacking.

Rafa does not tick a single box for United's future manager.

Experienced in the Prem - check
Master tactician - check.
Experienced with fireman jobs - check
Wins **** - check

What other ticks are there if you need someone to salvage the season?

Thought so.

Begone with this blasphemy!

In the modern game I'm sure 'mutual consent' is just a polite way of sacking a manager in majority of cases, to help him save some face so to speak.

Also the 'contract running out' is no coincidence, they wanted rid of him or else could of renewed. Rafa only got Madrid job because they had practically been through every top manager by that point and had to turn to someone. Hence why now they end up with someone totally unproven like Zidane.

Sorry bud, but mutual agreements in this day and age is the same as being sacked, only you have been asked to leave not full on sacked. If you have been asked to leave and say no you are done for anyway. Tell me, how does one have the conversation of both parties wanting to "both part ways"? You see it everywhere, from the police to football. ****, I have unfortunately given that choice to people myself.

Look at Inter when he joined, he destroyed a champions league winning club faster than anyone could have thought, and yes, Jose may have been in charge and we all know he never leaves a club in a good position, but to implode it like he did is special in itself. Also, lets not forget that we thought LVG was an attacking and winning manager but let's just say recent evidence conflicts that statement. And again, he is an ex 'Pool manager. We should never even think of getting him. Even Scouse, one of the more dedicated 'Pool fans on the forum knows he isn't right and Rafa won them a CL.

We don't need a fireman, we need someone who knows how to get the best of the squad, we have very little deadwood in the squad, we just need quality and an attacking edge. We will not have much chance to salvage this season bringing in another manger, who will only be short term themselves. It would be pointless and ridiculous. That fixes ****** all bringing in Rafa.

One final and huge point, bringing in Rafa will **** of half of the united fans straight away so that won't help matters either.

Did someone say the fat Spanish waiter is coming to united?...lol...I'd rather have moyes back
