The Manchester United Thread

Utter ******* embarassment. By far and large the worst game of the season.

Even in that **** period in December, at least they had possession and dominated. Here? They had nothing. Absolutely ******* nothing. The entire 90 minutes was both teams launching long balls from defense and fouling each other in the middle.

Christ.

This game ended quite similarly to the same fixture last season...and as I recall, we had 0 shots on target

I'll take literally anyone over LVG at this point, he has killed anything exciting about United. Literally nothing at all. If he is not sacked within the next 24 hours our board needs to be investigated for serious incompetence. Two dinosaurs like Fergie and Charlton on the board (the legends they undoubtedly are) honestly doesn't help as they don't believe in sacking a manager ever.

Idk how even LVG even survived until this point, it is an utter mystery.

Wtf. For two months now at least 7 decent to great players have gone **** all at the same time!

If you read the reports, Fergie and Charlton have nothing to do with Van Gaal. It's completely Woodward's decisions.

This is the worse part, when going gets tough just blame anyone that you can remember.

Maybe so, but it would be a bit naive to think that two people like them do not have an influence over Woody, personally I think it be impossible to ignore them.

Plus with his whole 'Galactico' style and wanting United to look like an elite club, how does it even make sense for LVG to still be here now considering how utter dross it has been over several months? It's very confusing.

Van Gaal and Woodward get on well. Fergie and Charlton are hardly involved in any decision making, at least that's what is reported and that's how it should be. They should be just ambassadors.

Never knew it was wrong to try and a sign a world class player. To sign someone, you should at least try. I'm glad that at least woody has balls to dream big and ready to spend big. Whole problem is with the manager. Hopefully we get someone in the midseason, else these 4 months will be pain to watch.

Don't forget what's important lads. ;)

Manchester United unveil latest global partner.
Manchester United have announced Columbia Sportswear as their latest global partner.

Under the deal, Columbia becomes the Premier League side’s first official outdoor apparel partner, with the brand set to design and create a range of co-branded outerwear for select outdoor pursuits.

The new items will be rolled out in the autumn, according to a United statement. Financial terms of the agreement have not been released.

"Manchester United is proud to be partnering with Columbia Sportswear to bring our fans a new and exciting range of club branded products,” said United’s group managing director Richard Arnold.

“Like Manchester United, Columbia is steeped in history and has a reputation for creating innovative premium products. Available in over 100 countries, Columbia enjoys an international reach that matches the club's.”

The new deal is the second major licensing agreement signed by United this month, following last week’s golf equipment deal with TaylorMade-Adidas.

How long until Manchester United acquire the status of a mid-table team? ;)

The thing is, with Bastian and Carrick out, and Blind locked to defense, they can't really play possession anymore. The team has no ball-distributor. So it aint a surprise that LVG is experimenting with weird formations and ****. But whatever the **** it was that he tried to today, was just garbage, absolute garbage.

Football now is worse than under Moyes and points tally in league is also worse.

Only slight positive is LVG has a decent record against big teams, but if you look at it this season we're very lucky to have them results based on the same dire performances.

Our board are a bunch of gutless cowards and will totally cost us top 4 if LVG isn't gone now. No reason whatsoever he is still in this job. He should of been gone a month ago. All points lost since are on the board as far as I'm concerned.

6 wins in 21 games. Which other club would accept that? We're not acting like an elite club anymore, we're acting like a team heading towards the bottom end of the table at best.

Our board is total curse and Woodward has no clue whatsoever. Woodward is one of the worst things about us at the moment, even if you 'dream big' and want to see United at the top of the tree by signing the best players and all that shizz you don't publicly say it. Also when he publicly said about the finances we had and we would spend big money was one of the stupidest thing I've ever seen in my life from someone in his position, no wonder other clubs want to fleece us for their players.

you can save typing and say we are becoming like Liverpool and everything will be covered in that single word.

Sorry but you are completely wrong and come as clueless. Even if Woodward doesn't talk about finances, world is not stupid not to see how much we make and how loaded we are.

You should go back and check our history. Overpaying for players is not new for ManUtd, we have done it for years and continue to do so.

Woodward is doing his job by supporting manager by signing whatever players he is asking for, something he is doing better than Gill, except he doesn't have Fergie.

How am I clueless? Woodward has publicly said all this stuff in the past, about our finances and how we WILL sign the best players. It is utter stupidity, even if opponents or other clubs know our finanial strength already, saying these things out in the open is still very inept for someone in his position and will make things more awkward when dealing with other clubs undoubtedly. Oh and makes us look totally stupid as a club when we don't pull things off which he spouts, which often happens.

We are going nowhere whilst these people like Woodward have a say in footballing issues, at least appoint a Director Of Football to help run the footballing side of things and then shove these money men like Woody back to the commercial side. That's our only hope if you ask me. We're going to be Ac Milan, a giant fallen so rapidly people will no longer even realise the fall from grace that has happened unless things change.

All our board cares about including Woody is revenue and they have no interest in the football whatsoever unless it puts the revenue under threat. A club totally controlled and run by money men we now are apart from a few ambassador icons like Charlton and Fergie. Even Journalists have stated this numerous times. For example: -

#MUFC board wouldn't care about the turgid football under Van Gaal unless it put precious revenue under threat. That threat is now very real

I guess a shortened version is the Glazers are the root of all evil in this club and our only ultimate hope is for a takeover led by a fan consortium or someone who genuinely has a passion for the club.
