It's not uncommon to talk with senior players when manager is not doing his job properly. At least it helps him to make better decision. There is nothing wrong with CEO communicating with players.

What players think about managers is not out in open. It's all for the locker room.

We're not talking a typical business structure here. A football club is a completely different animal.

The players relationship within a club is with the coach. Not the CEO. When he's bypassing the manager to source opinion on said manager from the players under him, he's invariably doing it for one thing.

When it comes out in the open he's gone behind his back when the coach isn't even in the Country, it's hard to see it as anything else but being undermined if you're the coach in question.

You'd be dead wrong. People want him out, but almost no one actually dislikes Van Gaal himself. Everybody loves colorful characters, and Van Gaal was always a beautiful mix between Albert Einstein and Adolf Hitler.

And with the career he had? Dude. The trashing of Spain alone. That **** will go down in history. This guy didn't just beat the world champions, he annihilated them tactically and mentally. They never looked the same team again. Let alone all other things he'd done. Everyone who loves the game has to respect that.

The guy is 64. He wanted to challenge himself, one last time, before he retires to be with his wife. Maybe he overestimated his energy, maybe he lost his touch, **** happens. But he certainly did his utmost best.

Whatever happens, from his tenure I'll remember that press conference where he lectured the journos for 5 minutes, and they just sat there in silence like their momma is angry at them. That **** was beautiful.

But the vast majority of Utd fans, or any other fan for that matter, don't give a flying f for the rest of a persons career. They care about the job he's done at their club. Which in this case is a pretty darn poor one.

I don't know what get's reported over in Poland but he's turned the vast percentage against him, particularly those paying for this **** every week,; and has become more and more disliked the longer he's dug in with his stubborn self belief that his way is the only way.

He's not gonna' be remembered fondly by many Utd fans when he finally leaves.

When you want to paint everything with negative brush, then yes. It is undermining coach. When you think about it with bit of common sense then it will be clear.

So CEO is not allowed to talk to players? The players he signed and the boss. ok. So CEO should be kept in dark about what kind of relationship players have with coach, that would help a lot.

Sunliv you are missing the point completely, in my mind there is nothing wrong with a CEO communicating with players but in this scenario it is total nonsense.

LVG should of been sacked a month ago, all the stats and performances speak for themselves, you don't need any information from players regarding what the right decision is now, everyone knows he has to be sacked and that was a long time overdue which has cost us numerous points since christmas.

They waited too long with Moyes and top 4 was gone, very similar scenario happening here.

If your CEO or owner has a relationship where the players can turn to him, then you're on a slippery slope and your whole structure is wrong. You're then open to the players skipping the manager when they aren't happy if they have the CEO/ owner's ear.

Wrong. It's good to have communication with players when the things are not going well. It's not as if players went ahead and met CEO, it's the other way. CEO wanted to meet players and have chat with him. There is nothing wrong with that. It's not as if everything is out in public, what they talk in locker room with CEO. Everything stays internal and at least CEO knows what players feel about manager.

So I didn't make any definitive statement about sentiments of 1000s of fans. I never said their opinion is not valid, just that they do it for clicks and anyone with bit of common sense can see that.

United fans locally do not like Van Gaal? lol one more stupid post. I may not be in manchester but I'm in lot of United forums where match going fans share their views. Many are disappointed with United and hate the direction we are going in but they don't just abuse Van Gaal. So there goes your point.

But noway in **** this still should be public. The one who leaked it (if this really happened) as no respect for the club.

Anyone who has been involved in team sport and so on, knows that there are locker room talks and meetings that never should be mentioned outside.
I understand that sometimes truly managers say that where talks and so on. Its okey, but this situation right now is very intense and leaking this shows no respect to Van Gaal in my opinion.

Football club is not just players, manager, CEO. There are many players involved in the club and anyone can leak the information.

Also people like myself are passionate (probably overly so) about the club and when you see or have an opinion of wrongdoings it's only natural in my opinion to let them out and discuss them.
