The Manchester United Thread

Yes and no, Woody has made mistakes as CEO and if you can't address that in a forum like this well then quite frankly it's useless.

Also people like myself are passionate (probably overly so) about the club and when you see or have an opinion of wrongdoings it's only natural in my opinion to let them out and discuss them.

I get that you are passionate, but you are looking for stuff that isn't there

Now wait till he post how he has 100s of imaginary friends and how much they hate Van Gaal.

Exactly. Some of the overreactions for every rumors is ridiculous and it's always the same 2 people. 1 is a troll for sure and wish Mike was still active to take care of trolls.

Its getting a joke Sunil, I mean dont get me wrong United not doing so well marvellous stuff to me as a Leeds fan. But I have been amember of this forum for about 6-7 years and contributed with people like yourself to try and make it a sane place to talk about football. But it would appear some people want to take the forum to the murky depths and it ****** me off, because we have tried to get away from **** like that.

And after that ditto your bunkum last night.

I can no longer take anything you post seriously either.

I'm sorry but when you post stuff like you would have Joe Gomez over Daley Blind, it doesn't even need an explanation.

But you think what you want mate I really am not bothered

There are many which are even worse, like how Liverpool in 90s were more talented than ManUtd when ManUtd won 8 league titles in 11 years. lol.

Yeah and then you call people out on opinions like that and you get called a troll or some other such bollocks.

Which is exactly what he's doing and he's not even telling that how it went.

So I wouldn't respond to something inaccurately put there for that purpose personally.

Mate, that's you.

No, that's you. Almost everybody wants him out by now. That's one thing. But a lot of those people also feel bad for Van Gaal.

The moment he showed up he took the place by storm. Confidence was bursting out of his ears, the entire fanbase electric, it was such a refreshing moment after dire Moyes era. But now he looks like an old, tired man, who is slowly realizing that he should've retired on a high after 2014 WC.

Its never fun to watch, when genuine legend of the game can't keep up anymore.

I don't know what get's reported over in Poland

What do you mean what gets reported in Poland. Its 2016. All the sports media on the planet are taking news from the same sources on Twitter.

That wasn't a slight on Poland mate if that's how you read it.

Just the difference between local and National reporting/ platforms.

Presumably you missed the previous response saying you only have to listen to local radio phone-in's/ the Evil Utd fan channels/ Utd lads you know up here et all.

The thing is, this is a flawed way of generating a sample because there is an inherent bias to it. The kind of people that are going to call into a phone in show are naturally going to be passionate about it, and 9/10 they're going to be ****** off as well. Same with things like Reddit, forums, etc. These fans are the minority. A very vocal minority granted, but one nonetheless.

In the same way that I don't expect all scousers to be batshit insane just because Liverpool fans are, I wouldn't look at a small and biased sample and try and extrapolate it to a whole fanbase. It's what lots of people tried to do with us about Mourinho, and as it turns out the fanbase was actually a lot more split than first thought. Because every mentalist was phoning in to rant, it was assumed that we all supported Jose and wanted him to bear our children, but when it came down to it a lot of the fans, locally and online, were fine with it.

So much is posted about how our U18s are not winning but not a word on our U21s who are on a winning streak and 2nd in the table, 3 points behind with 3 games in hand.

Also most of the players who are regular are just 18-19 years old.

If the reports of Van Gaal offering his resignation is true then I don't know how any one can hate the man. In this age where every player and manager looks for pay off, he is looking for none.

Whatever maybe his failures, I will always respect Van Gaal the person.

He is a great person, he's just burnt out, his style just doesn't fit United, he should be allowed to leave on his own terms, with Giggs as interim till Summer and judge whether he can be permanent or not

As far as Mourinho is concerned, he is a great manager, but again his style won't fit, better be someone who can get them to play champagne football and give youth a chance, someone like Mauricio Pochettino or maybe even Roberto Martinez.David Moyes was ideal, but somehow didn't work out, let's give Ryan a chance and see what he can do.

That's what he did at AZ also when results were disappointing. Half of players went to his house and talked him into staying. Next year they won the league.

I know rumors of a (possible) new kit isn't the most exciting news these days but I pretty much like it, dunno why.

Also, I've seen the reports claiming LVG went to the Netherlands, to talk with the family, offered his resignation, etc. I'm not sure guys. We definitely need a new manager, but I'm not sure the end of January is the right timing. Do you really think we can have an adequate replacement right now? Or will Giggsy take over till the end of the season then we go with full power to get Pep?

One thing I know. The next 4-5 days will be nail-bitingly exciting and I won't be able to stop refreshing 10 different pages simultaneously.

Edit: Tyton, this AZ story of LVG, seriously? :O

LVG didn't offer to resign anyway, apparently, according to Sky Sports anyway.

This whole thing is a total farce, I don't know how the **** he is still here. Even if there is no one else get Giggs in as interim or failing that Warren Joyce from U21's.

It's clear we need a change, our players have lost all their drive and creativity in an attacking sense.
