Im not so sure. Just because a player wants to get involved in the play instead of standing 6 yards out waiting to toe it in, doesnt make them care about scoring goals less. Rooney spends half a game in midfield, doesnt mean Hernandez has more of a desire to score goals than him. Or am i missing the point of what your saying?

You are just overrating PL a lot. Ibra will school defenders no matter which league or team. He is that good.

So much about physicality and we have players like Silva, Mata, Fabregas who are light but were few levels above their peers.

I'm factoring in his age as well though, I mean he is not going to be a prime Zlatan coming to the PL. Unless he is some freak of nature which I don't know about.

Like I mentioned to Steve and Mike, this move may very well work out but the implications if it doesn't may be more costly than you think.

They really arent that costly. He's tearing apart better defences than the Premier league right now. He'll be fine.
 
When it comes to goals in any competition the one thing Zlatan has never been a gamble on is providing them. No matter the comp, no matter the league. The PL really isnt as different as people like to make out. It certainly isnt carrying any special quality right now.

Ok we can argue that 1 and 3 are not conventional strikers but they can fill that role and interchange with Martial/Rashford/Rooney for example. Also I really think having a player with the movement of Griezzmann/Reus/Aubemayang in that position would cause opponents a lot of problems.

Actually his priority is a main line CF. Which doesn't bode well for Rooney

I gave the best possible example of Berbatov, strikers who are not arsed about scoring. If they score great for them, if they don't then they won't lose sleep over it. (not saying one is superior and one is inferior)

Then there are players like Ronaldo who will give everything to get to the end of a cross or a pass, similar to Hernandez, Icardi, RVN.

Obviously every player wants to score goals but there is a clear difference in the attitude of a goal scorers and a player who enjoys playing beautiful game like Berba, Bergkamp.

Every move is a gamble, even the players at good age and playing in same league are gamble as they might not step up to the level needed.

Likewise Ibra is a gamble but the one we should be taking. He is 35 but scoring for fun. He is incredibly strong player and for a player of his size, his technical ability is just amazing. He lacks pace but again, he has very good game intelligence and playmaking skills. It's very hard to disposes him.

For a year or 2, it's a gamble worth taking.

It never ceases to amaze me how people think the Premier League is some kind of other worldly being in football.

We have seen that a lot about having PL experience and all the ****.

It's good to have the experience but the way some posted about how it's so important make you feel as if PL is some European power house or some super league.

Not about zzeezzy, just in general.

If Zlatan hits 20 goals and 10 assists then he's already done his job for us.
 
We'll see in a few weeks if Zlatan tears City a new one. If he does it aginst them, one of the best teams in our league so a pretty good marker, then realistically you wouldnt think he'd have much problem for us. Or will the excuses come about City having Hart/Kompany/Otamendi out so he's only scored against the same defence as Rashford?

Maybe he might not be able to do it on a cold Tuesday night in Stoke lol.

His best chance of winning CL is by staying at PSG. They are the only CL contenders who can afford him and need him.

I mean clubs like Madrid, Barca, Bayern have strong attackers and a settled strikers.

Exactly, like its any different settling from Serie A to La Liga, transfers don't work out all the time PL is no different. Sometimes systems make players look better than they are, sometimes you buy a player and the system he was working in got the absolute maximum out of him and the new system negates his strengths or sometimes he just gets homesick but all these factors apply to all leagues. Sure the PL has some unique characteristics but I certainly do not buy the old chestnut that it is that much more physical than say the Bundesliga/Ligue 1 etc. If anything many teams have forgot how to defend. On Zlatan with his physicality and also his ability to playmake like a 10 he would rip defences open and you would probably see a higher output out of Mata/Depay/Martial. Thinking about it, it is a transfer that makes sense on so many levels really.

If someone said I could have the choice between Zlatan and Rooney next season, i'd send Wayne back to Croxteth in a heartbeat
