The Manchester United Thread

I would hardly say he's quicker than Mata. He's prob as fast as Rooney is now. Upgrade? Sure. Do we need him? No, he doesn't fit it any more than Mata. Even in his dribbling compilations, he doesn't use his pace to dribble past. It's more of a change of direction, then pass or shoot. Mata does that as well, but James is better. We don't need a wide playmaker, we need a winger.

He's more of a winger than Mata. But he's not Mane type player. He will score and create from the flank though. Of course, we have little idea what our formation will be next season. Or who is officially in charge. United have wanted James for a long time so I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bid

Personell need to change, but the way we play and the mentality is more important. We are so much better with tempo and with one holding mid. How we set up should define who we buy

Point is there are people who are paid to watch player on and off the field to judge them as overall package.

Yes, same with every transfer. What's does that have to do with Renato again?

So worrying about the transfer just because the player might be ****** up mentally once he makes a big move is silly.

Not when said player can't legitimately buy a beer.

Looking lot better with pace upfront. Rashford introduction has helped a lot. Martial, Lingard and Rashford means lot of pace which we lacked.

With high tempo our players look lot better. Will be very interesting summer and probably very defining one for the club.

Plays slow, keeps the ball, perfect for LVG then?

Hes only young, its a role i'd wouldn't be suprised to see someone use him in at somepoint if not towards the end of his career, he has the raw tools just depends if hes 'gets' the role as you say.

The same experiment was done with Ferdinand and he played his worse ever game for ManUtd against Blackburn.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if someone tries him as DM and wouldn't be surprised also to see that backfire.

He should be a CB but needs someone who can guide him on the pitch to learn his trade or atleast he needs coach who knows how to sort out defense.

Id move to Athletico :)

He is, but that doesn't make him a winger. Mata was scoring and creating from the right as well. Realistically, does James fit in any Fergie team, LVG team or. lets say, Mous team in the past?

The way Mou players at Madrid? Yes

LVG? Who knows, his set up is beyond baffling. James is more direct than Mata, less direct than Martial. What's more important is the tempo behind the front 4.

James is fairly versatile to be honest, I don't know why people obsess over whether he fits or not. It's his attitude that I'd worry about. Otherwise, ask yourself this, what would Fergie do if he had a chance to lock down a world class talent like that? Because I'm pretty sure he would double down and sign him, and worry about fitting him into the team later. James is good enough to build the team around him if needed be.

And Mata hasn't been exactly pulling his weight lately.

Ferguson tried 3 times to sign him.

For me it's the duo behind that is key.

Or trio.

Mourinho might get defensive at times, but when he attacks its with pace and we suit that so much more.

Martial up top with Griezmann and Hames on the wings with a midfield 3 of Sanches,Schniederlin and One of Herrera, Schweinstiger or Kroos would be amazing next season if rumours are to be believed and Mou plays 433

I can't see anyone similar to James from that RM squad Mou had.

It wouldn't matter if players click and feel good playing together. ****, my brain is fried by fever, can't find better words. If he can fit him in using his strengths, I can't see how he cannot fit in Mata as well. In my book, those two are similar. One is more direct, powerful with the eye for spectacular, other is more creative with great movement. I do prefer James, but in my book, it would be waste of money.

Isco on the other hand, that boy is just yummy! Phenomenal player to have. I think so, have to ask some Madrid fans.

Isco's very 'meh' imo. He's definitely talented but far too inconsistent.

In fairness, there's not much of a point to blame him for inconsistency when he's not being used consistently. Constant managerial bruhahaha, moving him to different positions, moving him to bench and back, none of that helps.

Would love Isco here tbh. I think he would be great as a creative CM in a 3 bit like how Moderic plays for Madrid.

Chong blames Feyenoord for Manchester United move

Tahith Chong has blamed Feyenoord for his upcoming move to Manchester United.

Although it hasn’t been confirmed by either club yet, Tahith Chong is set to leave Feyenoord this summer to join Premier League giants Manchester United.

Speaking to Elf Voetbal magazine, the 16-year-old has stated that he wanted to remain in Rotterdam, but the club had no plan for him which led him to decide on an exit.

Chong said, “It was my intention to stay at Feyenoord, but no plan was made for me. When I announced that I wanted to leave, they made a plan. That was too late.”

On his move to Manchester United, Chong said the club gave him a better feeling than the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester City.

He added, "At Manchester United I had a better feeling. You can feel immediately when you walk in a club."

A few English press tomorrow are running the Sanches story 46m £ 31 upfront and 15m £ in add ons. Few in Portugal saying it could be announced as early as tomorrow or early next week after Benfica president returns from negotiations in Manchester. Great news tbh looks a talent. Been happy with things so far Ed is doing back end of this season. The revamping of the academy staff/coaching and training. The new scouting being put into place. The new youth signings we have already made recently. Signing Sanches one of Europes top talents. Mou and most likely Berta coming in. Things looking up and good moving forward.
