The Manchester United Thread

A month ago I would have said pipe dream. But we've patched things up with Raiola, We've got money to burn, and Pogba is a start we can build around for a decade. I give it 40/60 which is higher that I would have ever given it.
Be interesting what comes of the meeting tomorrow or this week. And what the likes of Di Marzio, Ramano, Ducker report in the next few days and Amoyal

If Pogba came, big if, couldn't see Herrera getting a game when you have Schweinsteiger/Carrick, Rooney, Pogba, Scheneiderlin all fighting for them midfield positions. Not to mention possibility of Fosu-Mensah, although Mourinho might see him more as a full-back who likes to sit in. Kind of like his Ivanovic of Chelsea while you have Shaw who does the Azpilicueta role.
Herrera reminds me of Oscar. He'll most likely use Oscar as a number 10.

Raiola told L'Equipe: "If that's the case, we're not interested in Real either. I have never gone to Madrid to tell them: 'Please, would you like to buy Pogba?'

"Real Madrid are a club that is used to buying players like you buy a facecloth -- and then throws them away like a facecloth."

Really don't want United to sign mkhitaryan.(I am one of the few who still harbours hopes of Januzaj blossoming)..I'd give Adnan a year to prove himself and then, if it doesn't work, buy Henrikh on a free.

It won't effect Januzaj what so ever and he needs to prove himself big time before he deserves to be a starter. He will get games if he trains right and shows Mourinho he is deserving be it in cup games or Europa. Mkytarian is light years ahead of him and would improve our starting 11 straight away. Leave it a year and there will be God knows how many clubs after him.

Not that easy tho. If we don't get him now, I guarantee you bayern or Barcelona are getting him in January (pre-contract)

Dortmund have sent an official to Manchester, to finish Mkhitayan deal tomorrow.

Ballague apparently said on Spanish radio today, there's no new news on Pogba to Madrid as they refuse to meet Riola fee and Pogba massive wage demands of 200k + even Perez is shocked.

I wanted to watch this game tonight.
Just crazy, woke up, came to work, big news on screen that Messie retired from international football and knew that something went bad...
Dont know how to feel, in his prime, two years to WC, lets hope he changes his mind.

The shadow of Maradona continues to hang over him. And he knows it.

He'll go down as an all time great. But not Maradona great. Not least in his own Country.

Happy days. Bargain for that price for Mkytarian last year or not. Team shaping up nicely for next season now with these 3 new additions and DDG staying. Let's see what these Pogba negotiations bring today or tomorrow :)

Wouldn't necessarily say it's a bargain but I'm happy with the deal, considering we've lacked someone so badly to play on that right side for quite a while. He could add a much needed dimension to our attack we have been lacking for a fair few seasons. Just hope he settles, he took a while at Dortmund.

He was fine at Dortmund from the start, he's switched position last season from central attacking to the right hand side, and he's turned out to be more of a lethal end product player, rather than a very good build up play when in middle for his first two seasons

Price isn't bad considering how much they didn't want to sell. A month ago there was no chance of a deal, so under £30m for a player of this quality is great. Liverpool will have to pay up to £10m for the excellent Mane

Not bad but hardly a bargain, he's in last year of his contract.

I'm still a bit worried about Pogba, don't get me wrong his ability is unreal but the price we'd pay and the wages would be absurd.

Whenever I see Pogba I'm often frustrated, I see him doing an odd moment of brilliance then something sloppy. I don't know whether it's his attitude or just the way he plays, but for me he is over-hyped and irritatingly inconsistent at times.

Having said all that I'd still like to have him back, just a bit concerned whether he could deliver us the worth of what we would expect of him.

To get a player of his quality for that price is a great deal IMHO no matter how you cut it. Last year of his contract or not. You might well of not been so lucky come this time next year.

If he settles to the PL, he'd be a fantastic addition for anyone.
