The Manchester United Thread

Don't think Darmian is meh. He was one of the best FBs in Europe the season before we signed him. His is defensively solid and his technique is very good and good tactically. He was very good first few months for us then got injured and then LVG kept putting him in and out the team and leaving him with no consistency which is needed in a first season trying to get use to a new league/team. And people who doubt his attacking play obviously never watched him much if at all when he was at Torino.

Cheers for the prompt feedback, hope he gets his chance to shine under Mourinho. As for the Torino comment, forgive me if I don't go out of my way to watch Torino play live :D

Personally, I wish Rafael had more luck with fitness, once he came over his early days of positional naivety, he turned into such a consistent little right back and really played for the shirt... it's a pity he had such injury troubles, still only 26!

No worries mate. Lol I just love watching football from any league tbh it why I have all sports channels. Not you mate just don't understand people being so quick to write him off or say he can't attack.

Lol every Paddy Crerrend show and Wednesday night call in show on MUTV in the last 2 weeks have turned into the Paul Pogba show.

Another periscope from Malachians

This is The summary of the periscope.
  • Pogba will sign
  • First choice was Madrid
  • Madrid wont pay
  • He will sign for us,
  • Matuidi was backup plan
  • May still sign Matuidi depending on departures
  • According to his info it should be done early next week. Unless something dramatic happens. As united havent signed other alternatives it means every thing is on track
  • Says if he were to bet, it wiould be on pogba coming.

With respect can we hold off on stuff like this. No bids have been lodged yet, and we already know it's likely to be resolved by the end of the month, one way or another. Doesn't tell us anything we don't already know.

this is what i dont get is if real is where he wants to be why does he not just stay at juv win thing then sign for real on a free in 2 years

13,314 yesterday vs. Utd.

18,426 today vs. Liverpool.

Guess the Wigan fans got the wrong memo for the wrong game. ;).

#smalllittleclubbythemerseynobodycaresaboutanymore
Nah Wigan fans couldn't get time off for both so took the opportunity to see a side they might beat ;). Either way the club probably made just as much money from the first as they did the second. So a win, win situation for Wigan but lose lose for Wigan fans.

Which would tell you Real isn't really his first choice. It's not like he is unhappy at Juve either. If he wants Real, then he could wait it out and win trophies, not sign and go for less. Nor would he have signed the long term contract last time round either

Not sure when his contract runs out tbh. Think it's June 2019. Juve would not let that happen, they will cash in if there was any chance of this happening. Doubt they would just let him run down his contract and let him leave for free, when a 100+ is on the table. If he's stays he will sign a new contract. That would make it even harder for anyone to sign him his price will rise. They won't get s better offer than this imo.

That would be a rotten move though, I think in a way, him leaving for what would be a world record fee, is the most respectful thing he can do for Juventus (apart from committing his future there of course). Think back to when Kaka left Milan for a record fee, part of the reason that he could accept leaving the club that he loved was that they were getting well paid for it... and I know this is not near the same situation, and Pogba most likely doesn't have the same passion for Juve as Kaka had for Milan, but Juve handed him a lifeline and made him the superstar he is today, so no doubt he has the utmost respect for them for it.. to play out his contract and leave for NIL would be a massive middle finger up in my eyes, considering what he's worth.

Of course it's spin. No one Madrid friendly paper has played this deal up in the last 3 months. He's either never been a serious target, or he's never been interested for the last few months.

Then to sum it up, they then ran an article questioning whether he was worthy of Madrid

FYI some people have towork at the weekend especially on a Saturday (shop, railways, etcdon't run themselves on the weekend). Which kinda makes your point a little poorly thought out.

Exactly plus Zidane today saying we don't need Pogba I have great players already, yes I like Pogba but he's not a Madrid player. Spin all the way!
