The Manchester United Thread

I really wouldn't look too much into what's likely to be a defeat, it's just a pre-season friendly, if anything shows how meaningless pre-season is then it would be Van Gaal beating all around him in the summers before the real business came around.

Plenty of reasons to ignore what we're seeing.

- Dortmund are fitter/sharper
- The heat/humitidy, not to mention the pitch which bobbles about 5 times every 10 seconds
- 2 of their 3 goals were very fortunate; a half blunder by Johnstone in which De Gea more than likely wouldn't of made, and an unlucky penalty to concede.
- We missed 2x one on ones (Lingard & Mkhitaryan)

Honestly I wouldn't be too bothered taking all into consideration... and the likes of Ibrahimovic, Martial, Rooney and maybe 'you know who' (Not voldemort from Harry Potter) to be introduced, take a chill pill and enjoy the *friendly*. What a cracking goal from Dembele by the way, Rojo didn't know what day it was:D

^^^^^ This! ^^^^^^

Plus Mou himself said he is not too bothered with score at friendlies and that the purpose of friendlies have nothing to do with score.

Yeah. If I analyze this, we got walked over in midfield but we're without schniderlin, schweinsteger, and the imminent signing of Paul pogba. If these personell played, very different game.

And playing with Johnstone in goal for most of the match, and Jones is far from match fit and its only Mou's 2nd friendly ffs.

But we should clear out some people and it seems that ROJO is a walking recipe for disaster.

I hope that the clearouts are: Young (I know a lot of people will disagree but, frankly he's **** and not a UTD player), Fellaini, Rojo and Valencia, plus people like McNair.

Rojo is worthless as CB, but I think he could be good backup at LB? Isn't he a vital player for Argentina as LB?

What has happened to Cameron Borthwick-Jackson? One of the standout players last season from the youth in the first team.

I'd rather have him as backup for that spot to Shaw than Rojo.

I'd keep McNair. Was pretty solid 2 seasons ago. Apart from that one game he ****** up and got took off, he was pretty good, and he came back even better after that game being subbed. A lot of players that age could have crumbled. Been involved with an improving National team for the last few years aswell. I'd be confident in him being part of the squad, but I'd be looking to get him a loan with plenty of playing time. Preferably in the Premiership but a full season as first choice in the Championship will do him a lot of good.

Isnt he with England?

(WTF!!! got to wait between posts but every day the forum is spammed with new members (bots) making new threads? Yeh that makes sense)

He's too chill for my liking and I think mourinho thinks so himself.

CBJ has a minor injury and will meet up with the team in Sweden mate.

Wow, 4-1. Mourinho obviously hasn't clicked with the players. Not sure he understands how the club is run. Quite an embarrassment to be thumped so badly already.

Not looking hopeful. Wouldn't be surprised if Jose quits before the season starts if he doesn't get Pogba.

Calm down just joking.

That's harsh man! He was good last season for a young kid. Not a fan of his dinosaur style running but that can be fixed.

Yeah, WTF? He was great every time he played. Solid defensively and has a wicked left foot cross on him. Just needs to spend some time in the gym because he has a frame of a Gulag survivor, and should be solid backup for Shaw.

Mourinho clearly rates him or he wouldn't have offered him a new 3 year deal. He will be back up to Shaw imo. I like you was very impressed with him last season. I remember Joyce comparing him to G Neville. Not flashy or special but works extremely hard and wants to be the best he can be. Difference I see is that CBJ most probs has better technique and passing than Neville. Both have awesome deliveries.
