MOURINHO ON SCHWEINSTEIGER:


"What is happening is what is happening in every club in the world. Which is that the manager decides his squad and chooses a certain number of players to face the season, and that’s it. I normally like to work with 20 players plus the three goalkeepers, which is what I do for 15 years. But we have so many players, so many competitions, especially the Europa League, which changes the profile of the season a lot. You have the big risk of travelling a lot, playing Premier League. So I made the decision to play with 23 players and two goalkeepers, which is a lot. I had to make my decisions, it’s simple."
 
MOURINHO IS ASKED ABOUT POGBA:


"I don’t like to speak about other players. Other managers like to do that. What matters to me is only what happens in my house, not the house of my neighbour. Pogba is a Juventus player until officially he isn’t. It stays like this. I think my club is trying to do everything to close our market before August 14. So hopefully be next week we will have our squad closed."
 
MOURINHO ON COMMUNITY SHIELD:
“Everything is important. Our pre-season was strange. It was good for some players but for others it was not enough. The number of matches was not enough. The match we didn’t play against City wasn’t good for us. The week of no work in China was really bad for us. We need to train, we need to play, we need minutes for the player. We need to train against other teams like we did against Everton and Galatasaray. Now this weekend is not another training game. For the players who were involved last year must have a meaning. They won the FA Cup. We have to face it as a game. We have six changes (substitutes) not three. So that gives me the chance to give minutes to some players, because they have no condition to play for 90 minutes.”
 
Mourinho just said he is going to be using a squad of 23 + 3 keepers.

Well that didn't take long for Jose to get narked. The season must be starting:

Literally nothing other managers havent said, and will say in their time. Everyone desperate to turn nothing into something.

I do it all the time, when Ferguson did it, when Rodgers did it, when Dalglish did it, when Wenger did it. Manager in saying whatever they want shocker. Wasn't even narked in the conference.

FWIW, just having fun with Mourinho now. When we get into the season in another weeks time people will be on short temper leashes so I'll leave well enough there from quoting him or poking fun at him in here.

One thing I REALLY hope though is someone has a word with him before L'pool and United meet and tell him to lay off playing to Utd fans and stoking it up. Which you can well see being as he's just starting out at Utd. It's starting to get particularly nasty again and he or anyone else doing that is the last thing it needs. They aren't the ones that have to get in and out of the grounds in one piece.

Considering you were getting het up with people pointing Klopp, perhaps for the best.

Why would he lay off? Ferguson never did, the players and fans were never anything less than bang up for it, win or loss.

The fire went out of the derby for years, despite us winning most of them under LVG. I expect that to be put right.
