Yeah but that doesn't sound as good as having a dig at Jose and youth.Van Gaal only picked him because everyone else including Rooney was injured

Nothing to brag about really in all comps! How to score all 24 of them last season...
When Chelsea had a striker crisis, he played Schurlle up top. He had to literally point at where to make the runs. He was utterly clueless up top.

Because Schurrle was quick and direct. Thus fit the bill. Germany have used him up front. As did Schalke

Germany have also played Gotze up front. Schurrle has never been good up top.
To be fair though, hasn't your lot been playing with Alexis Sanchez up top as a lone striker so far this season? Not saying he isn't capable of doing a job there, he has the attributes, but as we saw against Liverpool, he's just not a natural number 9.
It's because Giroud wasn't ready after an extended break after the Euros and Welbeck got injured. We didn't have much choice.
I know mate, but your statement was Mourinho resorted to a winger up top for Chelsea instead of promoting a natural #9 from his youth team, as Van Gaal did with Rashford, but isn't Wenger doing the exact same in Giroud & Welbeck's absence by pushing Sanchez up there, instead of say giving the likes of Kaylen Hinds from the u21's a chance? I'm not saying he's wrong to not promote a youth player as cover, I'm just saying Mourinho wouldn't be alone nor wrong in being wary of throwing youngsters in before their time.
Rashford was always scoring goals at academy based on what I know and was always talented. Kaylen Hinds most likely won't make it. The only comparable player is Akpom who didn't have the greatest loan spell under Steve Bruce on the championship. He's had his chance in the first team before when we lacked strikers.
We've thrust Rob Holding who played in the Championship last season into central defence rather than a full back as Mourinho would have done. Krystian Bielik is supposed to play a few games this season. We started Alex Iwobi in a champions league knockout against Barca! Straight from the Academy. I never knew that he was this good at 19. There's no way Iwobi or Hector Bellerin would have come through with Mourinho. Bellerin played away to Dortmund in an important champions league gane on his debut. I remember him being torn apart that day. He got used to that after a few days.
Fecking love it! Can't wait for Saturday absolutely buzzing. Stones, Bravo, Otanendi ain't gonna know what's happening

Guardiolas teams are always the best in the league. I'd have City as favourites. Never forget that Mourinho can pull off a tactical masterclass though! Stones and especially Otamendi are decent one on one which is the way Pep likes his centre backs like to defend.Fecking love it! Can't wait for Saturday absolutely buzzing. It's easy to be best in the league with the teams he's had tbh. Whole different ball game now, City won't dominate like Bayern and Barca. Plus Aguero is injured. Tbh City are lucky to be top atm after being bang average and getting a helping hand OG in his first game. And City looked wank when West Ham put them under pressure. Mou loves these big games and will have a plan up his sleeve. No faves at all imo.Guardiolas teams are always the best in the league. I'd have City as favourites. My first worry will be getting up the pitch. Ibra doesn't have the pace and I think someone more tactically disciplined than Rashford will play out wide. I fancy Martial and Miki out wide. Pogba is the perfect player to have in a counter attacking day as he can do everything. Don't expect much from Rooney who will be useless under pressure. Impressed with Blind, especially as Mourinho usually ship out smaller centre becks. His ability on the ball and reading of the game has won him over.
He has improved every team he's been at in every area. They score more, concede less and have more possession, this has happened at Bayern and Barcelona. City have been good in Spirts hardly say they've been on another level. Many media think we've looked the more comfortable despite being in second gear. When West Ham put them under pressure they fell to pieces for 25-30 mins. I don't underestimate City they have quality but so do we. Let's see if they score more, concede less blah blah come the end of the season. He has improved every team he's been at in every area. City have well deserved every result thus far. They were unlucky to score just 3 against West Ham. Their mistake was not killing the game off early. Underestimate a Guardiola team at your own peril!
