Ta. Never saw the match live save for the last half hour or so. Which at least made up somewhat for the reality check disaster in Glasgow. *Smiles. But it sure looked like it could of been given. Problem with the 'keeper one is the studs up thing I guess as he wins the ball too. Always been a bug bear how over protected goalies are today yet they are allowed to come out feet/ studs first 9 times out of 10.

I'd disagree with that the majority of the time. Particularly the bigger games. But he's the last person I want to be arguing about on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
 
I think Mourinho is one of those managers, in which until he manages your club, you don't quite fully appreciate how beneficial his personality, his ego, and his raw appetite to win is for the the club. I never liked Mourinho as a person over the years, but now I'm starting to get him. Yes he's arrogant, yes he hates to lose and is not always gracious in defeat, and although these traits don't make for popular opinions from the mutual, it's exactly what a club like United need leading them.

And to be fair, he did say it was his fault for the defeat yesterday. He said he did seek certain performances from individuals, but he wouldn't name names, and went out of his way to take the attention/blame off the half time substitutions Lingard & Mkhitaryan, saying it was not just them when questioned about them specifically, and went on to accept the blame & take responsibility as the man who selected the side/tactics.

What I was watching he narked about the officials and players underperforming.

But again, it was just a general observation on him that I don't wish to debate late Sunday afternoon so I'm dropping out of this one.

You missed most the the interview then. He was scathing about the players and himself, and then mentioned Bravo, which was a nailed on red card.

There are definitely times to criticise him when he loses, but yesterday was absolutely not one of them.
 
Mourinho is like a lifelong alcoholic who cleans up his act every once in a while and everyone thinks he's a changed man, then one day he grabs a drink again, and spends next few months vomitng on everybody.

Before you drop out here, you didn't watch the full video...you've just seen little snippets.

Where he claimed 2 penalties, the reporter asked him how he felt about the refereeing decisions. Obviously you wouldn't expect mourinho to say clattenburg had a fantastic match. That was the ONLY time he talked about referees

It's seemed like he took us through a maze before taking responsibility for the loss. It was like you felt that he was blaming the players then he says "you know what? It's all my fault"

Anyway enough talk of haircuts and bollocks! Just watching the Granada vs Eibar game and Pereira started LW. Had a good game so far easily there best player. Could of had a couple of assists if his STR were not so shocking and had some good long range efforts. Worked well on the defensive side as well up and down on the LW. Also showed some nice touches and a couple of dribbles. Very happy he seems to be getting a good amount of game time atm.
 
I do feel pogba has been played out of position so far. He needs to be in a midfield of 3...better yet, @ no. 10

Defo in s midfield 3. He needs to be driving forward as the more advanced CM out the 3. Not as a 10 with him receiving the ball with his back to goal. I really hope we switch to an early days Mou 3 in midfield. Ideally

I don't really think he has been played out of position to be honest. Lack of support? Maybe. But he's a box-to-box all round midfielder, he showed exactly what he's about against Southampton, intercepting, surging forward, evading challenges, taking players out of the game, etc. and the only reason he didn't overly stand out against Hull was due to how much we were constantly in the final third, it was hardly a midfield battle. The City game was the perfect game for him to leave his mark on, and to be fair he did have some really good moments of picking the ball up and driving the ball forward in the first half for all he saw of the ball, and he, along with his team mates did look lively in the opening moments of the second half too, coming out of the blocks very encouragingly, but as soon as Pep packed the midfield by throwing on Fernando for their sole striker, to go along with Fernandinho & Silva, they simply done a number on him.

Also, I don't mean to throw old overheard debate again, but does anyone feel Schweinsteiger would've been invaluable in a game like that? Gritty, vastly experienced, classy on the ball, been involved in so many of these big games, I feel he & Pogba would also compliment each other really well. But I understand, at this stage, it's unlikely to ever going to happen.
 
I don't think anyone understands why is he leaving Schweinsteiger out. The fitness excuse is bullshit because he kept Carrick who is both older and less mobile. And I seriously doubt the club would sign 31-year old on a massive wages and 3 year contract, if fitness tests didn't prove he will be able to play competitive football for that long.

My guess is there had to be some bruhaha behind the scenes. I mean, he became a fan favorite from day one, it seemed that he gelled with the squad instantly, he speaks excellent English, has a reputation for being a superb professional, everything points out that he adapted well to living and working in Manchester.

Then suddenly everyone acts like he's on a wheelchair, some "leaks" are coming out of the club that he doesn't get along with the squad, finally he doesn't even make 23-man squad. The whole thing is bizarre.

Carrick carries more authority in the club than Bastian, and I speak as someone who would love to see more of him.

There hasn't been any bust up, he just prefers Carrick and others to him.

I'd have been playing Morgan tbh, with Pogba and Herrera
