I will admit, I'm incredibly worried. All this started after he called out a bunch of players after we lost to city.
Right now, we look exactly like the Chelsea side of last season.

I know so much has happened since, so many players bought, players sold, a couple of new managers since, etc. but does anyone think our problems since life without Sir Alex stemmed from David Moyes wiping out the entire coaching staff along with Mike Phelan? Rene Meulensteen is the one that always pops straight to mind when I think of important coaches that were let go. People made a big deal about the goalkeeping coach at the time, but in hindsight, De Gea has only got better so I wouldn't look too much into that.
I suppose he had every right to let go & employ his own staff at the time, being the manager, but I still can't help but feel there was too much drastic change behind the scenes/on the training ground, etc.
Probably not an overly relevant debate at the moment, considering this is us trying to rebuild from Van Gaal's little era rather than Fergie, but I always come back to these thoughts.

Joe McLoughlin once told me at a training academy that defenders have to halt running for a brief period and scream for the offside in order to get it. Defenders seem to get the benefit of the doubt.

Its a lot more to do than that! And TBH we wasn't great against Hull either. It's nothing like Chelsea at all. No need for knee jerk reactions this early.

Why has no one ever played Fellaini at CB?He has the aerial presence and physicality for it and pairing him with Bailly could solve the speed problem he has.Is a Fellaini not wanting to do it thing?

It's a totally different position to learn where you will spend time chasing your own goal. A different type of awareness.
Carrick is an intelligent enough player to fill in during an injury crisis imo.
100%, and has enough quality to warrant a starting place in the centre of the park too in my opinion. Forget his age, he's been our best midfielder in recent years, and it's not as if he needs pace to perform that Pirlo type role.
I recall a stat perhaps last season, maybe the one before, there was an incredible different in our win percentage with him in the team as opposed to being absent.

Pep has more balls than Jose it seems, no way he would play Rooney or accommodate him somewhere he didn't fit. Just look how brutal he has been with Yaya Toure.
It's early days but I've lost my optimism for this season already, not because of Mourinho neccessarily more because of the players, they are just not working hard enough. If you want to win games and even trophies you are going to have to put in 100% effort and so far I can't see that from many players.
Scouse I did think Liverpool would struggle this season to make top 4 you're right, but not because of your style, more to do with the quality you had available. But the thing is that you actually have a style and 100% commitment from your players. That counts for more than us having better quality in our squad but them not given us 100%.
So at the moment I'd say we won't even make top 4 unless these players put a shift in, Mourinho needs to grow some balls with his selection and start dropping Rooney.

There's a lot of issues at our club stemming from the last few years under Fergie imo. Lack of investment in players and squad rebuilding, causing nearly all our quality and most influential players Vidic, Giggs, Scholes, Evra, Ferdinand etc all leaving at the same time. That's a **** of a lot of experience and quality leaving when Moyes took over. He did not help himself getting rid of all the staff and defo did not help himself in the transfer windows. Then LVG took over and completely changed the everything from top to bottom staff, training, facilities etc. Then selling the likes of Nani, Rafa, RVP etc leaving us with a thin squad and then added to that the relying on youth after a mass injury crisis leaving us with no quality cover whatsoever. Not to mention the unrest in training and so on. TBH it's been a shambles since 2009 imo how it's been run. Just hope now after Woodward has learnt all aspects of his job and with Mou given time we can right the wrongs that have built up since.
I just don't get it to be honest. Moyes might have been afraid to drop Rooney. But LVG? The guy famously dropped Rivaldo the year after he won Ballon d'Or, for god's sake. And the way he cleaned United off aging deadwood was absolutely brutal. Mourinho usually doesn't **** around either. Why would two managers with long reputation of ruthlessness would be afraid to drop someone who underperforms for 3+ years straight? It makes no ******* sense.
Shambles since 2009? Why that far back?

It's the thing that baffles me the most. If you were to pick any managers with the balls to drop Rooney they would be it. Hopefully Mou does it soon. Or at least decks him off at the end of this season.
