Also Yaya's attitude stinks from the core, any manager with some sanity would drop him for that reason alone, whereas Rooney is probably as hardworking/hungry as ever, even if age has caught up on his ability

Because that's when our transfers went down hill big time imo bar maybe 3-4 players.

I would say only Smalling, DDG, Valencia have been good signings since and maybe RVP for 1 season and Chica to a certain extent Jones has been a massive flop. Look at the players we missed out on due to Fergies no value in the market! We wasted the Ronaldo money big time.

Owen was decent for a free, provided experience and scored vital goals, Lindergaard was just a backup keeper, Young has been decent for 16 Million (especially under Ferguson) and Kagawa never got enough time in his favoured role. The rest were duds but United keep on throwing money around aimlessly and don't give players time. United haven't had an particularly attacking manager since Ferguson. They've all been cautious.
 
Tbf Wilf got no chance at all haha, glad to see him playing well for Palace the moment. With everything that's happened over the past few years, it just goes to show how incredible of a manager SAF really was, how he got the best out of certain individuals and made them play splendidly as a team when in hindsight, some of them have been exposed to be bang average, bewilders me. The Boss.

I dont think Wilf has been great at Palace not consistently. SAF was great but left Moyes with a huge task and not just in replacing the man himself. Defo did not help him and Gill leaving at the same time.

Zaha has really stepped up to the plate this season in the absence of Bolasie, both him & Townsend

Zaha hasn't changed much. Excellent dribbler but no end product. Nowhere near good enough for United.

Not saying he was going to ever be at that level, I'm just saying if your club spends £10 million or whatever it was on bringing a young winger in with bags of potential, it might just be worth giving him more than 2 games & a month or whatever it was of training with the coaching staff before deciding he's not good enough. Question; if Ronaldo was sent on loan to Palace & Cardiff when he had little end product, before being flogged off to them, instead of staying with Sir Alex & working & training with world class players, top coaches, etc., would he be at Real Madrid today as arguably the best player in the world? I wouldn't bank on it. And yes, of course I know Ronaldo was younger and showed more raw potential, but the similarities are still there.

UNDER 23'S: XI v DERBY: O'Hara (GK), El Fitouri, Tuanzebe, Poole, Riley, Redmond, Scott, Willock, McTominay, Harrop, Hamilton
Subs: Moutha-Sebtaoui (GK), Olosunde, Williams, Chong, Doughty

Chong and Sebatoui rewarded this week with a spot on the bench. Hamilton looks like he might have earned himself a regular spot in the u23s after a couple of impressive performances too.

Currently 1-0 to Utd McTominey the scorer with a good header and a good bit of play by Harrop for the assist.​

'IF' that's the case, and he in effect can't be dropped, Woodward or whomever deals with the contracts needs sacking. That would be a disgrace and make a complete mockery of your club.

NO player is bigger than Utd.

I can't for one minute believe that is the case but were it to be ......
 
It's all true, it all stemmed from when Fergie dropped him from the Madrid game. He gave the club a written ultimatum at the end of that season, and they surrendered the following year.

There's no way he has straight "must play if fit" clause, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was sponsor related.
 
U23s finished 3-2 decent game. Harrop best player for me. McTominey and Tuanzebe were good also. And was a great cameo from new signing from the u18s Olesunde who chipped in with 2 assists.

I keep thinking it has something to do with breaking the goalscoring record, I recall him saying ages back that the thing that swayed him to staying was he wanted to become a Manchester United "legend", let's face it, he's not exactly blessed in the brains department, so a little bit of "come on Wayne, break Sir Bobby's record and then you can leave" whispered in his ear once or twice and he's egged on. Could that be the clause if any? Monster bonus for him too? Or could it just be a gentlemans agreement between the club & a highly paid player that's done so much for them over the years? (To play until he breaks the record)
