The Manchester United Thread

Pogbas had two gilt edged chances now that he has to take.

To say Utd should be expecting more in those positions for their £89 million is an understatement.

Played well first half should of been out of sight. Did not play with the same tempo 2nd half. Game of 2 keepers in the end. Frustrated!

Poor, poor, poor 2 massive points lost and not good enough although their keeper had a worldie have to beating these sides. Adds unwanted extra pressure to our next game.

Hmmm. Never expected that bonus as it was at home. But a fair draw given Stoke's rally second half.

Wonder who Mourinho, who was looking more and more ****** off the longer the game went, will blame this time?

Not sure what that does for Anfield. Utd now can't afford to lose at all. Does that make them more dangerous or play into L'pool's hands even more?

Happy with the performance overall, absolutely heart broken with the result. Pogba & Zlatan with huge chances. Out of all the occasions David happens to make his 'once in a blue moon' mistake, he has to do it in a one goal deficit game. Chances are if Grant doesn't make that really good save in the second minute and Zlatan scores, he doesn't go on to have a worldie.

Fair play to Stoke for sticking in there, but I definitely think we deserved the 3 points.

Absolutely depressing, and now a whole couple of weeks to stew over this negative atmosphere instead of getting out there next weekend to put the record straight. Grrrr.

Think of it as getting paid to not watch United play poorly and to do something productive at the same time :)
we need to really start getting back to winning ways this constant start stop is not helping us especially with city firing on all cylinders we cant afford to keep droppoing points on another note
cannot wait to get out of here and load up fm :P finishing 3.30

sadly if we keep wasting that many chances we will miss out on top four again.Honesly dont see us scoring enough goals this season to catch city but i beleive we will be in top four but will be tight

To be honest as disappointing as this I can't really put any blame on Mourinho other than maybe we should have played a weaker side on Thursday as we dropped off in 2nd half badly because if it.

But when you think of it, we had plenty of chances and god knows how we only scored 1 goal. This one is on not taking our chances and De Gea making a bad mistake gifting them a goal.

If City win today it will make things worse, hoping they lose as its hard to see us recovering a 9 point gap.

Agree with Owen and Savage about Pogba. He's playing far to high and leaving Herrera and the defence far to exposed. In a 2 he simply has to be more disciplined, which in turn takes away his best qualities. Mou needs to swap to a 3 pronto or better teams will destroy us!

Pogba is basically Yaya Toure with better work rate let's be honest, he has his good and bad but he positionally is suspect to say the least and no where near clinical enough. Yaya Toure is much more clinical with his shooting.

Agree. He needs that other 2 to let him do what he did at Juve and let him make them driving runs forward. The goals will come for him no doubt in my mind if he keeps getting those chances.

Hope so, anyway this day will only get better depending on the city result. Massive game against Liverpool where we need a win to be honest to have any title hope, even this early in the season, unless City lose today.

thing is with pogba i think he needs a real ball winner or someone who can intercept play from deep carrick is currently our best option maybe even pairing him tfm in midfield

I know I've already said it, but putting the depressing result aside, I am super pleased with that performance - it wasn't a Van Gaal draw, we created chance after chance and on a different day it could've been 5 or 6+ easily.

But we HAVE TO put teams like Stoke to the sword, no excuses. Yes their keeper put in a worldie, but I'm sorry Ibra has to do better in the second minute, and it could've been an absolute rout.

Carrick and Pogba would be worse than Pogba and Herrera. The three together is a different animal!
