The Manchester United Thread

I can't see that happening.. yet. What does everyone reckon.. are our league aspirations resolved to rescuing top 4 now?

ill be happy with top 4 never thought we would win it but till he finds his best 11 top 4 looks very far off and unless he puts out his best team in the euro league to try and win it to get back into the cl plus he needs to stop ******* crying in the press how **** is life is pls must be **** taking home 100k+ or what ever hes on a week

To early to be ruling anything out yet. Confident we will get top 4! Never expected us to win the league this season anyway.

liverpool and gunners fans have been saying that for the last 26 and 11 years so lets not go there

If Tom Heaton and whateverthestokegoalkeeper was called were not reinacting superman in the games we played against these two teams we would very much be just behind the top of the league. 4 points behind the leaders instead of 8 if we had won them games. It's really depressing but it is what it is at the moment, lack of clinical finishing mixed with some very bad fortune currently leads us to where we are.

Pereira doing well for Granada by the way, don't think anyone has mentioned him here for a while.

Doesn't work like that though does it lid? Or else you'd be saying you'd be a point down without David de Gea at Anfield, and would of seriously struggled to make Europe at all any of the last three seasons without him countlessly saving Utd.

Ultimately no we can all give excuses, football is a winning game at the end of the day, doesn't matter how you do it if it gets the points. I still don't think Europa League helps at all, 1 point in 9 after Europa League fixture. Yes that's another excuse I'm throwing in but it got me thinking. Going all the way to Turkey on Thursday and then expected to play again on Sunday at Swansea, it is bound to have an effect on the players. Compare that to yourselves, Chelsea and Leicester last year having a full week to prepare for each game virtually every week. *insertnextexcuseherebutIjustthoughtIwouldthrowthemintomakemefeelbetter*

I mean, plenty of people were saying LVG needs to be out even if he makes top 4, because "United always needs to challenge"

6 months and 150m later, suddenly top 4 is a realistic target, everybody expected to do nothing this season and waits for the next one.

So yeah.

Van Gaal had two years and it was clear as day he was not going to bring United on any further, irregardless of the FA Cup triumph. His philosophy wasn't effective, his dealings in the transfer market were a little suspect to say the least (considering the money he had available to him), and he just didn't really fit the bill for me, even though I was one of the few that supported him right up & until he parted ways with us. Mourinho's been here all of 5 minutes and we've seen some of the most attacking football at Old Trafford since Fergie, we've seen big name signings, and just pretty much big improvements on the pitch all 'round, even though the table deceives that due to a lack of conviction in front of goal/little to no luck.

Can't believe people are actually comparing our start this season with Moyes & Van Gaal, it's not as simple as "after x games moyes had x points as opposed to Mourinho's start" like the muppets on social media seem to think.

I actually still think we will challenge for the title, probably not win it, but won't be as far away as people are blowing their minds over.

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate it, I doubt no matter where you'll be, whatever costumes you'll see, or whichever movies you watch, you'll not see anything scarier than this:

Yeah he is. Wrote a post about his season about 2 weeks ago, with the other loan guys. Apart from Wilson the loans have been good this season. Pereira will defo be in the first team next season after Mou comments about him.
