The Manchester United Thread

Just wondering how quickly Mourinho is going to lose the dressing room at this rate.

There are about 15 players in that first team that He could lose out to sea in a sinking boat for all I care.

This is another example what I was trying to impart to you the other day in just how antwacky (Scouse word. Old fashioned) he is compared to the more vibrant breed that have moved with the evolving game now competing against him in England.

His methods from every standpoint are becoming outdated and the game is passing him by.

Well to be honest it's easy to be vibrant when your team is doing well and the players are clearing putting in a shift. When you see the embarrassment of last night then I agree to an extent him criticising the players. But not specifically like Mkhitaryan, he's been out of the team for ages and then he singles him out again.

It's difficult really, as I think the players deserved a bollocking after that but I still think it will cost Mourinho. Some of these players seem like snakes to me more than anything else.

If that happens our club is screwed though, no manager will turn that tide around.

No question they do. But do it 'in house.'

His first go-around at Chelsea he protected his players publicly against anything. And he had their total respect and loyalty to give him everything on a Sat'day afternoon. No doubt he tore them a new one behind closed doors. But they all knew he had their backs in public.

Then he left, went abroad, came back a horrible, gnarly, narky *****, and as soon as things started gong wrong and results went bad he started laying into anyone and everyone. Hanging them all out to dry blaming everyone but him. And he quickly lost the dressing room over it.

Ways and means and he's not changing his ways from what's cost him at Chelsea to his foolish detriment. And ultimately Utd's IMHO if he doesn't adapt.

That said, you're tied into him now and whether you like his methods or not, you have to roll with them and give him the time needed to turn this. It might well not turn to the free flowing, attacking Utd you traditionally adhere to on a consistent basis. But it will eventually turn to what he wants. You just need to ride the **** out getting to that point and readjust your expectations in so doing.

I know you all hate the word but it's a process.

There's a simple saying: Trouble the comfort, comfort the troubled. You have to know when you can publicly put pressure on players and when to relieve it.

Conidering Mourinho has criticised him again make the most of it, as we might need see him again for a while knowing how Jose works.

He has already said on MUTV that he will be in the squad and could feature against Swansea. Losing the dressing room? Why should he not criticise him he was asked about how he thought he performed and gave an honest answer. End of. Would of said the same if asked about any other player last night!

Let's not bullshit ourselves here, Jose was always going to be a gamble appointment, and you all knew it.

I mean, look how expectations have changed already. I distinctly remember people saying LVG needs to be fired even if he makes top 4, "because United always needs to challenge". Now suddenly top 4 is realistic target, and if you miss it it's not a big deal because Jose needs time.

The treatment of Mkhitaryan reminds me of Cuadrado. Couple of sub appearances and Mourinho seemed to decide he was no good, he was basically a dead man walking from that point on, would have had to cure cancer for Jose to change his mind

First time I have ever heard of a club that spends a world record transfer fee in the summer and yet fans are suddenly okay with just Top 4. The aim this season in the minds of everyone was to win the title. The transfer outlay in the summer proved that by showing how heavily Jose was being backed.

Well I haven't seen him establishing himself at Chelski after Mou left ...

He wanted to go to Juve and wouldn't be talked around. Conte has been a fan of him for years and apparently tried to get him to stay multiple times but he wanted to go back to Serie A.

Hang on a minute, where's all this **** about aims shifting coming from?

From the start it's been top 4 minimum and a title challenge.

Yes...it was an expectation given he had 2 summer transfer windows to get the squad he wanted.

Yeah but deep down with the money that was spent in the summer along with a world record transfer fee. Aiming for the title would have been kind of expected. Not struggling to string two good performances together.

The only place there was a massive spend was specifically Pogba. So I ask again, where's all this **** about aims shifting coming from?
