The Manchester United Thread

Hope we really do in Hull a new arsehole tonight, as I thought it was very harsh to sack Phelan. What more do they want/did they expect? He got them to a cup semi final, and has kept them within 3 points of safety (amazed how he got them into double figure points at this stage, let alone 13).

That a-hole Mendez at play again by all accounts in with the Hull owners.

That three managers he has now the PL lining his pockets?

It's still happening, Bailly and Martial wernt house hold names and they look like they could great player. We had the money to spend on the Pogba deal so why not, better be spent on players than in the owner’s pocket, why would you have gone out and got instead?

I don't think Alex Ferguson's ManU lacked money still discovered CR7 and bought him for ...19m. For 105m I would expect a world class player which Pogba is clearly not. I prefer to see things as is and quite sadly Liverpool is more attractive and compact as a team this year while having inferior (on paper) players except Coutinho who I consider him a world class player.

Just my opinion though no need to throw me into the incinerator if you don't agree. (H)

Nothing wrong with having an opinion mate but let's be honest CR7 was a bit of a one off. Our transfer dealings especially in his later years were average at best. Fergie had money, but refused to pay the fees to get the players in. Mostly agent fees. Some of the players we missed out on due to this was rediculous. The market has changed and if you want top players like Pogba, Griezmann, Weigl etc you will need to stump up big cash. Even look at the likes of Bailly and Martial were crazy money and relative unheard of. Pogba is world class imo and think most players and pundits think the same.

No need to worry about the incinerator mate! ;)

You're entitled to your opinion overachiever, even if it is a bad one. :D

No chance that you could get a young prospect good enough for Man Utd for 19 million with all the money in the game Sanches played one season and cost 35 million which is similar to Martial (both are also clause laden I think) and less than Bailly cost. Prices have continued to go up and up

Go back 12 months and everyone would have said he was world class and on course to be one of the best players in the world. Since joining Utd, a lot of people think he’s average and hype. I’m just wondering if we manage to sign someone like Griezmann next summer if he will also go from world class to bang average in the space of a summer.

While I don't think Phelan should have been sacked I can understand why 6 points from 51 is bad, Silva does at least seem like a very good young manager at least.

Also don't think he is in with the Hull owners, Wolves is where he seems to have a lot of sway, he has been offering Silva to every club in Europe it would seem

On a side note, was reading up on him and the best thing is he was sacked by Sporting despite getting them their first silverware in 7 years as in an earlier cup tie he hadn't worn a club suit which is the randomest reason for a sacking I have ever heard of

Happy with that team. Very attacking and should be good enough to get a solid league heading into the second leg. Also rests Zlatan, Carrick, Martial, Blind, Rojo for Sunday :)

Rashford is going to have a field day.
Took a scorecast at 25/1, Rashford to score first and a 3-1 win.

If Carrick plays, Fellaini doesn't. Carrick-Herrera-Pogba in the middle.

If Fellaini doesn't start and you don't revert to ale house football sat deep all game it will be a complete career anomaly from every time Mourinho has faced L'pool. Home or away.

We aren't holding our breath. But that's Sunday. Southampton tomorrow first is all that currently matters.
