The Manchester United Thread

Definately time to let Jones go. On his day he is miles better than Smalling but he's just too injury prone now. Shame really as he would have made both the United and probably England spot his for years. He needs a new start where he can put this time at United behind him. Ideally any move should include add-on's for games played, international caps etc that way even if he does turn the corner there will still be some benefit to United. Januzaj is another who needs to move on, he's like Mempis for me great in flashes but just not willing to do the simple stuff. I hope Keane is signed to give him a second chance, he looks to be a good solid defender who is willing to fight to prove people wrong. (Wonder if Burnley would be willing to swap him for Jones .....)

James? He's basically Mata except lazy. Ancelotti didn't want him, while both Rafa and Zidane didn't use him. If three different CL winning managers don't play the guy, there must be a good reason.

Dont know what happened to him because he was easily Madrids second best player in that 2014/15 season he was incredible.

Would take Hernandez back in a heart beat! Good age still, scores goals and important ones. His all round game has improved in Germany no end. Loves the club and would be available at a decent price. Is not settled in Germany. No brainier imo.

Hernandez's all round game was always lethal. He just needed a run of games. I'd have him back.

There's never a bad reason to post this.

Maybe I'm wrong but when I think back to great strikers under Mourinho I think Drogba, Zlatan, Milito, Benzema etc. etc.

I'm not sure Hernandez would have the physicality to be such a hit again in the PL under a Mou team, maybe I'm wrong but for me I think we need a striker with some more power as well as having the pace obviously.

I thought our top 4 hopes had died last week, but then all our rivals dropped points, so it's back on again. However if we fail to win at Sunderland we mayswell give up.

Really hope we got 4-2-3-1 tomorrow with Pogba in the heart of it, and Mkhitaryan behind Zlatan. Need to start destroying what's in our way.

Mourinho wouldn't be signing Hernandez to be the main man. But an option to get you a goal and rotate with Zlatan, someone with experience of leading a line at a good level.

Yeah, I get the feel Hernandez would be more than happy to come back in a similar role as he had under Fergie. Just loves the club. Like a rebirth of Ole.

Ducker saying that he's been told Utd will sign a STR another attacker, CM, CB, LB in the Summer. Also said we are only at 45% wages to turnover. Which will give us who space for wages in the Summer.

It's all well and good make these additions, some are definitely needed, but for me with the LB situation, it has been a mess of Mourinho's creation. Yes I understand Shaw has his problems, but you do not publically rip the guy like he has done without expecting behind the scenes implications.

I'm just disappointed because Shaw was real good under LVG up until his injury, Mourinho almost hasn't even give him the chance he deserves. Regardless of how this season went for Shaw we should be looking for the future with him, rather than pushing him out the door.

We definitely need a striker, CB and winger (rather than just a makeshift wide forward, hello James Rodriguez) though. CM is arguable but favorable to get another one of quality if we can.

I have that horrible sinking feeling in my gut before a Manchester United game :S

Im not saying Mourinho is completely blameless in the LB problem but most of its on Shaws shoulders I'm afraid. Not been helped by his brother or agent spouting **** in the press and on social media. Only Shaw can decide his Utd career now.

Remember the last time Mourinho savaged a player in the press for his work ethic and professionalism? Look at where that guy is now. Its not like he is a key player for an elite European team under a world-class manager after earning a big money transfer last summer. Oh wait ...
