The Manchester United Thread

I can't see Pereira get more playtime than like Mensah and Tuanzebe did this season, unless we get rid of like Mata or Martial or whatever?

And how can people not see James as a good signing??

Already this season with 1800' minutes played he has 11 goals and 13 assist

And overall he has 36 goals 41 assist in 110 games for Real Madrid

And he can play Left, Right and Centre

Isn't this what we've lacked this season? Goals and Assists? apart from Zlatan obviously..

If Mata stays I'd find that a scary looking bunch to go against - Rodriguez - Mata - Mkhitaryan. There's goals and assists for fun in there, if very narrow.

Get Lacazette or someone up top and that's a **** of an attack

In a Mourinho system, it's way less scary than on paper.

Metal Mickey was being hailed as the answer in here last summer after his blistering year for Dortmund.

Theres a big big difference with Pereira compared to those 2 you mentioned. He's way ahead in terms of ability and his development. And now has very good first team experience at the top level. If his constant communication with Mourinho is anything to go buy he will defo feature a fair bit next season. Mourinho has been very impressed with his form this season. As has the Spanish media. And his performances have been very good against the top 3 in La Liga. Watched him make Modric and Kroos look silly a few times.

Hmmm yeah see what you mean, think Mkhitaryan will be better next season though.

On paper it's a dangerous bunch at least haha

(would be fun on FM, though not for you ;) )

Tbh I was delighted we signed him. But at the same time knew he would need a good settling period, he's not a good settler after a move. He's shown quality this season now needs consistency.

Thats all well and good on paper but this is Madrid we're talking about. They hammer everyone every week. I bet I could get 10 goals and 10 assists in that team and that would be classed as good in the Premiership. Look at Miki. Goals and assists off the charts in Germany. Things need to be put into perspective.

Switch him for Martial or whomever else you like.

Point being they're all way more stifled under Mourinho than they would be elsewhere to Joes point about it being a scary looking attack.

Asking flair players to play that way is all fine when results are going well. But for argument's sake, Utd don't win the Europa. 6th place and Europa League footie again makes it even less attractive a proposition for that type of player to buy into working back for the team.

Hamez is a luxury buy and absolutely not what we need. Waste of 50 million imo.

Don't think it's a luxury buy tbh. I've stated the reasons why previously. And we're not gonna get a player of his quality for about 42m. Not when players like Bolasie are going for 30ish.

Yes he can play outwide, but for me it's just another case of buying a no.10 and shoehorning them to play there.

I mean, I really miss the days of actually having wing play with wingers who would beat their main on the outside and can cross a ball. Most of the time what we get now is people who just cut inside and make it easy as **** for their opposing fullbacks.

Can see both sides of this.

Rodriguez is not really needed (unlike other positions)

But it's hard to turn down a player of his ability for 40 odd million when lesser players aren't too far off that price these days.

United have the luxury of a big budget, if they don't fix the problems they have elsewhere then this is a stupid buy.

If they fix the other areas and get Rodriguez then I think it will be considered a bonus

Rashford and Martial will do that on the left wing

Yeah sort of get what you mean. But there ain't a great deal of wingers like that about. Plus we don't really have a natural No10 at the club. Mata has played most his career out right. And Mky had his best season playing RW cutting in.

That I can't see happening, unless Mou plans to get rid of any of our attacking mid/wingers.. or if he plans to play Bale up top haha
Or Mata goes as well and DDG is involved. I don't want Mata to go though!

Edit- Hunter also just said about James being a done deal.

So is Hamez solving any problems we have? If we had problems with creating chances then yes, sign him but we are top 3 in chances created in the epl this season so that's not the issue. The issue is finishing these chances. Hamez isn't a renowned finisher.

So because he's "cheap" for someone of his quality, we should just get him? That's like going to a store and buying some ornament when you've got your living room filled with them...all just because the price is low for its actual value.
